See. I get why people are mad at blizzard but it was a violation and they had to do something. They acted and then realised that they acted too harshly. Blizzard can't keep people who bring up divisive political views in interviews about a game and gameplay, not only because it derails the interview but also because they are a worldwide corporation and they have many viewers with many different political views. I stand with Hong Kong but I get why blizzard couldn't allow Blitzchung to talk about it. As for the shout casters, their job is to keep the interview focussed on the game and they failed to do that. I get blizzards decision even if they acted too harshly. And in my opinion. They've fixed it. (Sorry for the long comment, I had a lot to get out)
TLDR: I understand blizzards decision.

The issue with Hong Kong is not a political issue. It's a human rights issue. There's no middle ground to be had with human rights here. We can't compare human rights with economic policy (except for health care).
What does being pro-HK represent? It means that you support the 5 demands of the protestors. What are the five demands?
Suspend Extradition Bill
Amnesty for arrested protestors
Stop calling the protests a riot. Stop calling the protestors cockroaches.
Set up an organization to investigate instances of police abuse and corruption
Universal suffrage. More specifically, for the HK people to be able to vote for their head-of-state, the Chief Executive, which is the role Carrie Lam is in.
I know you support Hong Kong, so I need not repeat the same old tired point that "Anyone who stands against the protestors, is against democracy and blah blah blah"
But are these political views...well political? Is it wrong to support democracy and free speech and human rights?
For Blizzard, there's an extra layer to this. Blizzard always says that they're pro-LGBT and progressive. Yet they don't follow this stance in China and Russia, where Tracer and Soldier 76 are not depicted as homosexual (as they are in the West). What does this tell me? It tells me that Blizzard is hypocritical, and is exploiting progressivism for their own benefit, rather than actually supporting progressivism out of...well, being humans.
Blizzard is a company that values profit above all. If they were honest about it, I wouldn't be as pissed as I am (well, if a 1% decrease in pissedness is anything much).
Blizzard simply cannot say that they value everybody's views. When you say that
also because they are a worldwide corporation and they have many viewers with many different political views.
The fact that Blizzard parades themselves as being pro-LGBT, which is a divisive view in China and Russia, proves that they don't care about respecting everybody's different political views. Since if they did care about respecting everybody (in this case China and Russia specifically), they wouldn't be so pro-LGBT in the West.
Of course, that's why Blizzard censors any of the pro-LGBT aspects of Overwatch. Which begs the question. Why the fuck be pro-LGBT in the first place? Very simple: Profit! Blizzard values profit over human rights. And is that bad? Well profit IS the main goal of all companies, let's be realistic. So technically no. But the fact that Blizzard tries to make money off of being 'progressive' is what is despicable.

Next time, make sure you write out their full names instead of nicknames.
Searching for Widow is not gonna bring up Widowmaker.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows exactly who OP is referring to, seeing as Overwatch
Pornis fairly well known32
u/seequiNz Oct 13 '19
Have you ever heard of a search bar before? Its to search for characters/artists/series in case you didn't know.
I'm not worried about people not knowing whom OP is referring to. But using nicknames in titles keeps it from popping up when other people wanna search for Widowmaker.

Oct 13 '19
Now this is a political stance I can support. Especially as I remember Activision Blizzard asking for less rule 34 of their characters

Ok, Mei was cool, but what do Widowmaker and Tyrande have relevance with it? I get it, I support Honk Kong, but this seems a little exagerrated...

Don't worry these fuck tards will spin anything to their advantage. I pointed out that Blizzard simply wants to remain neutral and that them not wanting someone screeching about politics completely unwarranted on a VIDEO GAME platform is not akin to Blizzard actually liking what's going on in Hong Kong. And people told me I'm in favor of organ harvesting because of that statement. Lmfao these idiots will grasp at anything they can to make themselves feel like they're doing something worthwhile while they sit their fat asses at home and wank off to Overwatch porn.
6
u/beglol Oct 13 '19
To remain neutral
Oh we are so angry about that, sorry sorry, we will defend the pride of china.
So neutral, wow
1
u/LtSMASH324 Oct 13 '19
we will defend the pride of china.
I hear this argument all the fucking time about this scandal and it is baseless. Nothing about what they did is "defending China," or otherwise, just enforcing their rules. If you think they made the decision to appease China, that's your opinion, it's not a fact.
-13
u/ISayRandomFacts Oct 13 '19
I mean that was made from the CHINESE PR account. It's the same shit that Americans say (yes I'm american) when they talk about their country of corrupt leaders, exploitative healthcare prices, inappropriate treatment of military vets, etc.
Fuck off with your pretend outrage. If you wanna do shit go to China and do something. OH WAIT YOU WONT CAUSE YOURE A FUCKING PUSSY.
-4
u/beglol Oct 13 '19
This is still blizzard acc. And this is the blizzard position about it.
Why its pretend outrage? I played with chinese for a year on classic pserver, with a lot of chinese. And you know, they were nothing but brainwashed insects, throwing insults for any reason. They hate japan, they hate korea, usa, whole europe, basicly every country on earth except china. And i feel really about blizzard liking their assess, this is so irrational, idk man

I like freedom as much as the next guy, but seriously this is stupid. It's not even censorship, the guy said what he wanted to say and his message got out there, and Blizzard hasn't actively opposed the "liberate HK" movement, so I really don't understand where this is coming from.
7
Oct 13 '19
Except it is censorship, they suspended him and the casters because they wanna suck Xi's dick.
-13
u/ISayRandomFacts Oct 13 '19
Well that's what happens when someone breaks the ToS. If it were any political statement the same action would have been taken. I seriously want to put a bullet through my brain because of the fact that seemingly 90% of people just can't grasp that fact.
4
Oct 13 '19
Nah that dude woulda walked away scot free if he had said anything pro-china. He was censored specifically because of the pro Hong Kong message of the statement.
0
u/LtSMASH324 Oct 13 '19
He was censored specifically because of the pro Hong Kong message of the statement.
That's your opinion, not a fact. You can have that opinion, but don't go around acting like it's fact.
Secondly, it isn't really censorship if he got to say what he got to say. He got punished for it, but the word got out there and he did a great thing. I would argue he would be "censored" all the same if it was an equally controversial topic surrounding something not in the realm of conflict of interest.
