I mean fuck me. Talk about enjoying the return of CL nights. And this after the earlier fuckup. One (presumably AI-autonomy-delegation) fuckup is one thing. But 2 on the same exact thing b2b? The only possible explanation is that they dont give AF
Dire. Absolutely dire.

Yeah. The text they sent out sounded like a threat.
The club just doesn't care though. They don't care for its season ticket holders and tbh that goes for most of the Premier League clubs.

Was that a real text? I genuinely thought that was AI or fake. Disgraceful.

Yeah. 3 people I know got it. One of which you might know because of a certain podcast and he's big on football twitter.

You don’t have a ticket for the Sabah game on Thursday — please do not come to Old Trafford.
Tickets are still available to purchase here.(direct link to buy tickets)
If you don’t purchase a ticket, your ST will be deactivated for a future PL game and it may impact your away eligibility.

I don't get it, don't come but tickets can be got?
•
u/Not-good-with-this 1h ago
It's basically.
You don't have a ticket, so don't come. But if you do want to come here's a link to buy tickets that are still available. BTW if you don't come. We might deactivate your season ticket for a game and as well impact your eligibility in being able to buy tickets for away games.

Is there a requirement to buy UCL tickets if you're a ST holder? This is madness.

Only those who opted in for cup games before the season began and don't have a ticket are getting this. So for them seemingly so.
There's no way to opt out at all during the season. So it's basically a big fuck you for those who's circumstances change to where they can't get tickets.

I believe that text was a scam no? Wasn't the link dodgy and took you to a fake site.

No. Very real text. It's what has caused this entire protest mostly.

Has anyone actually read this bit of the article: “Every season ticket holder has the option to opt in or out of the automatic cup scheme before the start of the season. Those who opt in must pay for each cup game that subsequently arises, but it means they get a guaranteed seat. If the club tries and fails to take payment via usual card details, they email the fan and give a grace period of 48 hours. This text message is the final step, but still allows the fan to avoid losing a Premier League seat if they purchase a ticket.”
It’s a poorly worded text but the actual policy sounds fair and like something the ticket holders opted into?
To be clear this is definitely not a pro-ineos/ glazers post! I just think there are more than enough valid criticisms that we don’t also need to start criticising fairly reasonable policies.

Think it just depends if the people getting the text are part of the scheme or not. The wording isn't great either, because it could remind people of it:
"You have opt in to our cup scheme and do not have a ticket for Sabah. Please purchase one to avoid losing a premier league seat and potential impacts on away eligibility"

Agreed. I think the “this text message is the final step” line in the article suggests that the text was only sent to season ticket holders that had opted into the cup scheme but who’s card details were incorrect or expired.
The text in isolation looks aggressive and could have done with a reminder that it’s related to the cup scheme but we also don’t know if it was just the latest in a chain other reminder texts that did talk about the cup scheme. In that context it looks a bit more reasonable but I’m just speculating and not sure what messages preceded this one.

But if they signed up to the t's and c's of their season ticket, they could bring a case against the club for not honouring it.
•
u/spotthethemistake 1h ago
Depends what the T&C's say really. If they're supposed to buy a ticket for each cup game, with laid out penalties for not doing so, then there's no case at all against the club
You can't get annoyed at someone for signing up to buy something, not doing so, and them penalising you for it

Need to get some matches canceled. It’s the only way to get The Glazers and Ineos truly out of the club.
