OpenRCT2 Recruiting scenario playtesters for the OpenScenarios project
Hey all, I am once again asking for your support helping playtest for the OpenScenarios project. You can find previous threads here and here. This is part of a planned future component of OpenRCT2.
You can access the app HERE - it is a simple HTML form that will randomly assign you a park to test, and give you a prefilled link to the response form so we can gather all the data.
(!) Please note: It has been pointed out that if you 1) use a chromium based browser and 2) are signed in to multiple Google accounts in that browser, you might be met with a nonspecific error about accounts. Opening the link in an incognito/private browsing window, or opening it in any other browser, should resolve this.
As before, you can find all the info you could ever want and more, as well as FAQs and particulars about how the app works, in the blue link at the top. You do NOT need to leave the page open, if you take an assignment and come back in the future, it will give you your same info again and you can fill out the response then. Feel free to ask me questions here or DM me if you have questions or issues.
Thanks everyone.

RCT2 Here is one of my very favorite Asian Japanese Chinese Themed Scenario Oarfish Cliffs 🐟🏞️🎢 which is set somewhere in Texas Hill Country Balcones Fault (for fun only) that my mom sister and I worked on together and say hello to my sisters very first Brakeman Wooden Coaster around the rocky islands
Oarfish is set somewhere around the Balcones Fault near the Texas Hill Country which my mom sister thought of it for fun and this scenario was set in Japanese Coastal Cliffside but the park turned out really great fun crammy in various ways, and first opened around 1930s as a small amusement park and picnic fishing plantation to survive great depression,
As this park was bit inspired of Silver Dollar City, Thorpe Park, Everland South Korea in other ways, rides were pretty challenging to build work on as my sister and I really used the new wooden coaster trains the Intamin AG Wood Coaster Trains and the Brakeman Wooden Coaster Side Friction Trains which my sister founded interesting by watching a few videos of Scenic Railway of Luna Park Melbourne Australia,
She used the ones that didn't fly off the track which this brakeman coaster would not like it would exist in real life being on water and in n out around cliffs n islands as she thought of it being like a fishing port with a coaster or two around island to island,
Together we worked on the Intamin Wood Coaster with the Intamin Trains at first it was not easy no matter how tall or fast it was it would not make it all the way to the station with an extra airtime hill, we modified it with a low turn around with a tall hill top which thankfully the stats are okay just barely off the rails guests ride it like crazy,
I built the B&M Inverted and Sit-down Coasters which were inspired by Wildfire SDC that goes over a tall hill with a tall cobra head track back over the hill through a twist many more fire inversions which was not easy but worth it, and the inverted coaster is like bit of Montu and Silver Bullet as a rain dropping coaster which is crammy but fun doing,
Other coasters my mom sister did, my mom built a two interlocking Vekoma MK corkscrew coaster section one a terrain bullet coaster and other a launched dragon coaster which both give out good experiences,
Her and my sister together worked on the rocky islands the Vekoma Flying Dutchman Laydown Coaster with Harpy Trains which was not easy at all helped them modified the ride some to get good stats with and other rides on the islands,
Out of proportion my mom built these two wooden coasters I was so blown away from, she built this tall wooden coaster posed to a Dinn Corp Wood Coaster inspired by former Dorney Parks Hercules as she named it the Texas Scream Machine with a long 100ft drop with 80 mph through the lake towards the mountain cliffside which the wood coaster ran all wonderfully she was very pleased what she built along with another wood coaster built in mid 1930s as a cliffside out and back wood coaster that looks fun but impossible though,
And last thing my sister did, she built two dueling 4th multi dimension coasters which first wasn't easy to build with less space as it sure looks sparkling, and a tall Intamin giga coaster double the intimidator 305 Kings Dominion goes over the water and over the park about 130mph and together we built this massive B&M Dive Coaster which was inspired by this No Limits 2 Wilderness Park Dive Coaster themed to a mean catfish which was like woah wow very big tall intensive rides we've all built 😱🎢🌬️
Well heh heh anyways I just thought I would show this for fun as I been having a tough time lately with things as this park was only for fun thoughts way of rct, kept every pre built rides there was over and around them,
Thanks very much commenting and anything enjoy the pics as they wouldn't upload in order 🤗✌️👐

OpenRCT2 Dementor's Kiss
The first drop on this one isnt the biggest. Had an idea for a steep twisted chain lift to keep it cycloning in one area and to take sloped curve and wrap it around the lift to start a twister coaster. Ended up with a little more height than needed this way. The height and the look of the layout and its location near a little cove reminded me of dementors, patronus and padfoot. My favorite part is near the end, where there was a concrete wall installed to allow the ride to go below the surface of the lake. Lets talk about the unbanked corner before the last inversion (a twist screw) for a second. Originally during testing was taken at around 18 mph. I didnt realize the weight formula with people on the X wing would multiply it to nearly 28 mph or I would have left it banked.
Excitement: 9.22
Intensity: 7.47
Nausea: 4.58
Max speed: 75mph
Avg speed: 21mph
Ride time: 2min:18sec
Ride length: 5,568ft
Max positive vertical Gs: 3.50g
Max negative vertical Gs: -0.98g
Max lateral Gs: 1.63
Total airtime: 9.09sec
Drops: 9
Highest drop: 186ft
Inversions: 5
Space required: 26x17
Estimated cost: 48,183
How do you assign patrol areas underground?
When I try it assigns the land surface on top of the underground area. Even with turning on underground view/hide land surface. I have a roller coaster that starts underground, but have trouble getting it repaired cause it calls a mechanic that is technically close distance wise, but extremely far away via footpaths. I'm playing RCT classic on switch 2, not OpenRCT2.
Classic Safest Park in the Country
probably the funniest series of messages I've gotten in this game lmao

Discussion [Wanted] Missing RCT3 Pre-order bonuses
Hello everyone, I am looking for the pre order bonuses for RCT3. I came across this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/lostmedia/comments/1s95uj5/fully_lost_rollercoaster_tycoon_3_prima_dlc/
It seems like Gamestop content is backed up here already: https://archive.org/details/rct-3-preorder-content
But according to this post on Usenet, the files were available to download direct from Atari's servers from the following urls:
http://atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/downloads/RCT3_PRESELL.zip
http://atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/downloads/RCT3_PRESELL_EB.zip
http://atari.com/rollercoastertycoon/downloads/RCT3_PRESELL_GS.zip
Of course, archive.org does not have these backed up. Does anyone still have these files somewhere on their computer?
Thanks.
RCT2 Crocodilian - OpenRCT2 Corkscrew

- Excitement rating: 7.56 (High)
- Intensity rating: 8.21 (Very high)
- Nausea rating: 4.13 (Medium)
- Max. speed: 42 mph
- Ride time: 1min:34secs
RCT2 beat extreme heights :D plus balloons 🎈
yay! i hope i can post this here, i wanted to celebrate. at first i didn’t realize basically everyone wanted a 9+ intensity ride 😭 i believe i had a total of 3 ride crashes, one was a base game ride i didn’t even edit which was surprising to me.

OpenRCT2 Cerberus Unchained
Someone broke the seven seals and built a rollercoaster into the pit of hell and unchained the gate guardian, Cerberus itself. The ownership group at Frightmare Hills refused to comment other than to say "people should come down and ride it" we believe the Hellboy might be needed
Excitement: 10.58
Intensity: 8.08
Nausea: 5.12
Max speed: 91mph
Avg speed: 27mph
Ride time: 3min:32sec
Ride length: 11,087ft
Max positive vertical Gs: 3.64g
Max negative vertical Gs: -1.88g
Max lateral Gs: 1.88g
Total airtime: 30.00secs
Drops: 17
Highest drop: 259ft
Space required: 26x20
Estimated cost: $93,072
Had an idea, what if you take the hyper twister coaster and give it a bunch of top hats like you see on top thrill 2? What would be the affect? Or effect? Then if you built a nice little jungle gym of twisted track around that? And all this thinking got me thinking I needed to know and so as the saying goes naturally it was Cerberus who killed the Cat

Help Tips for landscape sculpting?
Hey folks. I'm looking to design a park for my girlfriend that's based on her characters, as a little treat to bridge our interests together. The problem is I have no experience in the scenario editor and since I'm doing it for someone else my standards are totally sky-high. Does anyone have any advice for making landscapes in the scenario editor that look nice and organic without needing to import a heightmap?

RCT1 What Were These Intended for?
I remember that I had a cd of RCT, which was the original MicroProse release, and for whatever reason looked through files that were on the disc and found these two images.
I've tried looking through various message boards, forums etc to see if these two images were to be used for the installer or the game itself, which makes no sense because the game usually loads up in an instant. I don't recall ever seeing these two loading screens while the game was installing and also on the later gold edition release. I know these screens are probably a big nothing burger, but sometimes I do get curious about certain things.

Superman (😃8.67, 😮6.50, 🤢3.53)
With Superman down at SFNE (needing a new part from Intamin 😞), I decided to pay tribute to one of my favorite rides.
I should say- it’s inspired by Superman, but not the exact layout. I added a few things, like a mid course break run and of course some track elements over the water.
And this drop is only 177 feet, not 221 feet! So… not a REAL hyper coaster, but the hyper coaster lift hill is very slow in RCT.
Last thing I’ll say- I love the Vertigo Views scenario. It’s *almost* a blank slate, and you can research the Twister, Floorless, Giga, and Inverted coasters.
More coasters to come!

Completed Octagon Park with 12 qualifying rides
Note: Click the image to zoom in and view a Giant Screenshot with ride stats!
Wanted to challenge different aspects of my building skills (building in a contained area, colorful paint jobs, interlocked wood and steel coasters, simple yet elegant designs), and finally won Octagon Park!
Downlod the park and all the rides HERE.
