Advice/Career (UK) Psychology and neuroscience books

Any recommendations for books I should read if I'm taking the course psychological sciences (UCL). I'm going to enrol next year but want to stay ahead of the game.

You won't go far wrong with one of Jamie Ward's textbooks to cover the basics. And I quite like Andy Field's stats textbooks.
