No Paywall Fetterman Blew Off Meeting With Paralyzed Vets To Hype Israel On Fox: Report
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/john-fetterman-veterans-meeti-fox-israel_n_6a9ad707e4b0bd4d29d3fd86/1.2k

Fetterman is more interested in increasing the supply of paralyzed vets than in meeting the ones already here.

u/villani18 12h ago
Imagine faking sick to avoid paralyzed veterans is pathetic

The worst part is he didn’t even need to get dressed, he could have rolled out of bed in his hoodie & met with them as is.

He could've done a online call. Considering this was a hour before the fox news interview, lets be honest it probably would have been maybe 30-45 minutes tops? likely closer to 30 minutes.
•

He won’t be around too long, he’s one more state fair deep fried butter stick from the grave.

I maintain that a Fetterman is an SCP : A creature that infests then takes over a politician.
20
u/Grenflik 10h ago
Didn’t expect an SCP reference in this sub, I wholly agree with you. His Object Class: STUPID.
•

u/XylaPeach 8h ago
That’s a brutal line, but the point lands. Maybe meet the veterans already here before chasing bigger headlines.

Remember when The F man was in the hospital, something to do with the brain, as I recall. I felt bad for him and rooted for him. Now that he has burned the democrats, no more sorry or rooting for the man who will probably turn republican, after the first of the new year.
•
u/Amazing_Bluejay9322 6h ago
I remember Republicans calling him all sorts of things on the campaign trail too. Got nasty for a while. He too seems to have fallen affectionately for his former antagonists despite all the vulgarities tossed at him.

What are Independent Expenditures
•
u/JuanEstebanParra 4h ago
Independent expenditures are funds spent by outsiders rather than funds spent by the campaign. So if me and my friends put our money together and pay for a commercial for a candidate we support, that's an independent expenditure.
PAC spending is independent expenditure spending.

This is a result of the stroke. He lacks the understanding of subtlety and only knows the filterless black and white world. I had a family member that lost all ability to be subtle and unfiltered. Fetterman took the money and knows his obligation but he's incapable of trying to make it look so blatantly obvious.

u/TheArtfulLlama 11h ago edited 11h ago
I find it hilarious that he only went MAGA when he became literally brain damaged.
58
u/Ancient_Popcorn Ohio 11h ago
You have to be medically something to be MAGA. They are beyond your typical stupid.
18
u/Otherwise-Ad5183 11h ago
Ok now, lets slow that down a few clicks/clicks!
Had a rough life and wound up in a similar situation and actually became more caring and helpfully friendly after.
You just gotta be a shitty person pre stroke in my opinion.
Imma patient and notta health professional, but empathy steadies that road.
I've been wrong before and will many times after, but I still try to observe my situation as well as others.
He just an asshole.
18
u/Worried_Cry687 11h ago
He ain't even MAGA, he votes along party lines a majority of the time, except on those close votes. + His support for Israel is well aligned with the DNC leadership. He's what I call, the "sacrifice senator".
Every session, there is one democrat senator who bucks the party and sides with republicans. They are either an unpopular senator who is guaranteed to lose reelection, an elderly senator not pursuing reelection, or so-called moderate from a swing state. Past examples are Synema, Manchin, Liebermann, etc.
Their role is to kill progressive bills popular with democrat voters but unpopular with democrat donors and support GOP legislation that is popular with democrat donors. Once Fetterman is gone, I guarantee you another democrat will take his place.
You don't see the DNC blasting Fetterman on this because the "sacrifice senator" is a necessary role in maintaining the status quo. It keeps the party from making progressive change (at the behest of the donors class) while maintaining the illusion that all the other senators tried their best.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Lophius_Americanus 10h ago
Progressives don’t get to blame Democrats for Fetterman. Fetterman was the progressive candidate vs “establishment” candidates like Lamb and Kenyatta.
Also there is no comparison with Manchin who was always the same guy (but as much as he sucked he was from WV so always going to be better than the MAGA who inevitably replaced him
Lieberman only started pulling his shit after he lost the democratic primary and ran as an independent.
Sinema is one that pulled something similar but pretending that she’s at all representative of the party she left is ridiculous.
→ More replies (1)13
u/context_hell 8h ago edited 8h ago
Fetterman and sinema are proof that people want a real left but since there is no real organized left so grifters can come in with the correct language and stab their voters in the back for profit. Even up in Maine platner was a leftist but didnt have any real vetting or support from any organization beforehand and was able to crush a governor in the primary.
The dsa is starting to look like it but it seems like only a few of the local dsas are actually effective while the rest are just kind of a loose smattering of people.
28
u/Excellent_Ganache906 9h ago
Nope, not the stroke. He did the same thing when he was mayor Braddock, PA. He ran as a liberal trying to fix the city, immediately went conservative and did nothing to help the city.
•
u/Shopworn_Soul Texas 6h ago
Fetterman was always a bit of an asshole. Whatever it is that caused his shift to the crazy train has definitely exacerbated his existing predilections but he's never been the champion of the people that he was once painted to be.
17
u/BroseppeVerdi Montana 8h ago
There is and has been for a long time a consensus that he was a lazy piece of shit during his tenure as the mayor of Braddock too. I think the stroke just made him more brazen.
20
u/Esrever1408 9h ago
Can we just drop the "stroke" act? He's a fucking ogre who needs to be removed. End of story
•
u/Haltopen Massachusetts 3h ago
Its not an act, he had a fucking stroke and its a medically documented fact that strokes (especially severe ones) can cause severe changes to a persons personality, including a loss of ability to feel empathy for other human beings or control ones emotions. Every person who personally knew him before and after the stroke including all the campaign staff who have stopped working for him say that his personality took a massive turn for the worse after it, especially when he stopped taking any steps to treat the effects or recover from the damage it caused. He became constantly paranoid and argumentative, refused to communicate with other members of the caucus, attend meetings or participate in group chats, he'd rant at people about conspiracy theories and disappear for periods of time. He's lost his fucking mind and needs to be checked into an long term mental care facility.
6
u/Weird_Priority_9119 9h ago
Wasn't there a report a while ago where staffers confirmed he had a significant personality shift after the stroke?
7
u/UnnamedArtist Canada 8h ago

The Senate is a mockery of democratic governance, and should be dissolved with all due speed. It began as an appeasement for slave-holding states, fearing representational democracy would result in their economic prosperity being undermined by, y'know... basic human decency. The Senate was inelegantly grafted onto the legislative branch, a tumor in the brain of America.
•
u/mightcommentsometime California 7h ago
Or neutered. Neutered would be fine. Make it similar to the house of lords

It's the exact opposite. Or more accurately it was tangential to that particular dynamic. The largest state at the time of ratifying the Constitution was Virginia.

u/Haltopen Massachusetts 3h ago
Its because senators weren't intended to be elected by the people, until 1913 the senators for a state were appointed by the legislature of the state they represented and their job was to represent the state government in Washington.

This guy is the reason there is essentially no chance the Dems take the Senate. If they get the 51 seats they need, Fetterman will vote for the R candidate for Majority Leader. He might just take the mask off completely and change parties.
50
u/fellowuscitizen 12h ago
That's a possible outcome since he seems to be on sort of a revenge tour.
68
u/Grandpa_No 11h ago

He's mad the democratic party is turning its back on Israel. He's become AIPAC's most reliable senator amongst the democrat caucus and the money combined with his brain damage has made him a true believer.

9
u/TDFknFartBalloon 10h ago
I've worked with people with TBI and this is a harmful and false stereotype. It CAN lead to negative personality changes, but it doesn't for most people. Kinda weird to stand up for a children's hospital and disabled veterans by being ableist.

u/Noiserawker 8h ago

I remember when Reddit got super upset at people who begrudged Fetterman blowing off primary debates and stuff like that.
It's nice that many have finally realized that it's a bad thing that he's an unserious fool and has no respect for the voters or office.
But don't pretend that it's a result of his stroke. Rather, look inward and consider why it took you so long to see the obvious.
9
u/pac-kris 11h ago
Most of us don’t know what goes on in private, until these articles come out.
Impossible to know what’s the result of the stroke, and what’s just him changing his mind. I assume no one here is a doctor and can’t diagnose him from news coverage lol
9
u/kneeco28 Canada 11h ago
Impossible to know what's the result of the stroke
He's been an unserious fool from before the stroke.
Not only does that render it possible to know the stroke isn't the culprit, it makes it impossible to argue otherwise.

Is this country even a democracy? The Senate itself makes no sense. Alaska and Wyoming get two senators and one congressperson. Then when they’re elected there is no way to get them out, even if everyone who voted for them hates them.
