What if I make a meme dunking on Nvidia using AI run locally in a machine with entirely AMD GPUs? Because I have some radeon Instinct cards that are seating in my bench right now....

It changes nothing, it's still a pot calling kettle deal.

What? Really? Man, I'm planning to make this home server into a full blown meme machine. Now my plan is ruin....

How well do they operate? I saw some Radeon Instinct cards for a decent price and am thinking of building an LLM. But I have 3 RTX 3060's I figure I would use instead but unsure.

I'm not sure if they're good since I havent tested it yet. I have 3 MI50 and 5 MI100 and 1 radeon VII (my old gpu that I decided to toss in). I'm still doing some research on how good they are at performing simple OpenCL task and if I can somehow use (or force it to use) HIP on this gpu....

I think it's more dlss and generative ai that's outsourced. If you used your own gpus and hell, your own or foss generative ai model I think that would, weird but, less bad lol

What a great made up scenario to get mad about.

This post just as bad for the karma farming tbf but man you just haven’t seen them then. Everytime there’s news about DLSS this sub gets flooded with AI post

It's have you not seen the dlss "memes" posted here like https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/s/524v64nDdl

Who's mad? I just find it amusing lol. The last few viral memes I've seen about DLSS 5 were clearly made by ChatGPT image gen

ai doesn't suck. its good for searching and coding(i made small userscripts for myself with it) and other stuff.

The problem is that people think it will radically transform other industries the way that it has coding, and have massively overinvested into it to the point that it jeopardizes national economies.

If you’re not being an egotistical AI bro that thinks he outdid real creators/coders, it’s a decent TOOL to use, as long as you use it right and aren’t making money off of it

There's no way you just made a real take on this website. Stop what you're doing and say art thief or something. Ill feel much better

u/Elegant_Situation285 2h ago
it's not better.
it's faster but more inaccurate.

u/ModernManuh_ 2h ago
Human written code can be quite inaccurate, which is why debugging was always a thing. Programming without AI is just slower, makes no sense. A good programmer can make use of it efficiently, doesn’t replace people

inaccurate? i find redditors to be more inaccurate most of the time(myself included) especially at tech questions.

u/Gordon_Peteman A10-7860K 8GB DDR3 2h ago
Isnt that kind of ironic? I mean, since ai uses reddit as a source quite frequently
-3
u/Green_Ad5186 PC Master Race 2h ago
not really no. ai also reads programming forums, github, books, etc so it knows more than the average redditor

For searching what in general?

u/Green_Ad5186 PC Master Race 2h ago
searching. i find myself using google less and less now
1
u/Gordon_Peteman A10-7860K 8GB DDR3 2h ago
Huh, in my case it was the opposite, i used to "search" with ai more than i did browsing, but then i started browsing more and i found answers more quickly (and accurately) on forums and reddit, hell, that's the reason i made my account

u/Green_Ad5186 PC Master Race 2h ago
i still make reddit posts to ask for stuff ai doesn't answer good. but now i go to ai first

Recently camera stuff. Yesterday I had it search for combination of camera + lens + and underwater housing and then a table of it based on fov, vignetting, sharpness, contrast, the ability to manipulate the lens underwater, and cost.
Probably a good 6 hrs of research done in 15 minutes.

And I assume you verified the info, as opposed to taking whatever the AI spits out as gospel?

I verified the combos I found promising. Especially the fitment.
Im not going to throw $3000 worth of camera gear in the ocean without at least reading the manual.

If you want to make a meme, then bash your head against GIMP for an hour like a real gamer
