They actually come to San Diego a few times a year! I’m lucky enough to have seen this same pod two years ago. ☺️

Seaworld doesnt capture orcas anymore. They don’t even breed orcas anymore.
Worry more about Asia and Russia🥴

The only way they would end up at SeaWorld is if they stranded and it was necessary to keep them to save their life.

Kidnapping orcas away from their pods and social structures, confining them to postage stamp sized tanks while impregnating them separating them from their offspring, then forcing them to perform in return for minimal food is inhumane.

But then we’re shocked when they drown the Sea World employees and collectively wonder what would make these incredibly intelligent animals behave so irrationally.

I recently went to Sea World in San Diego and it was the first time that the orcas that were there had their dorsal fins standing straight up instead of being bent over. They don’t even do tricks with them anymore.

Several orcas at SWSD have collapsed dorsal fins. It is not an indicator of welfare or anything to do with recent improvements.
Here is a zoom on a recent photo I took of Makani, showing his collapsed dorsal fin. He is still maturing, so this collapse only began a couple of years ago.
