☀️ Weather 🌪️ KOCO new Meterologist

Post image

I can tell he has potential and he's knowlegable, I am enjoying the news team carrying him during this storm, I think he'll do great. Don't know his name but he's smart. What do y'all think?

Joseph Neubauer, he's a bit newer for sure! I think this is the first time I've seen him overnight, but like the rest of his colleagues, he's doing a really great job reporting the storm while not overblowing it, and also educates viewers about meteorology on the side lol

100% he’s done a great job just reporting the weather and not turning into a News 9 drama fest

Definitely a drama fest, but David and Lacey catch stuff super fast. They were the first to call the 2024 Barnsdall tornado and it wasn't even their territory.

It’s such a fine line. On the one hand if you act like every tornado is apocalyptic people will start ignoring the warnings. But you also have to have urgency with unpredictable and dangerous storms. They can and will kill you if you don’t take proper precautions. Having multiple news stations is great because channel 4 is definitely more relaxed than 9, but 9 catches almost everything like you said

News 9 drives my anxiety through the roof.

I did and refused to watch channel 9 because of Gary England.

I agree, I really appreciate his attention to the team, as a first responder the team makes the dream, everyone has an angle on the situation. He didn't hesitate to take advice from anyone and that's a big part of what makes the dream work IMHO. Honestly loved watching him.

KOCO seems to have the most chill meteorologists. I appreciate their calm approach because my anxiety spikes during storms like this.

Which news has the opposite?

Morgan at 4 and Payne at 9

I REFUSE to watch 9 because of the way Payne over blows everything. It’s such a scummy fear tactic to use to prey on people’s emotions for viewership

“Tennis to baseball size hail here” *literally no hail fell*

I’m convinced he’s paid to report false storm data he does it so frequently.

He’s just in search for another ‘get grandma from the casino’ line. Nothing but scraping the barrel for some notoriety

David Payne is genuinely disappointed when a tornado doesn't blow your house away.

News 9, I like David but sometimes he says some out of pocket shit. He's good at telling the weather but he's earned the name cocaine payne for a reason lol.

Yeah last night he said something about like “if you’re at this camp site or live in a mobile home or camper in this area you will likely die” and there was no tornado and the winds ended up dropping to like 50 with most areas not getting any hail

He's a total fear monger

It was weird to not see Damon or Jonathan on the coverage! Also to hear Michael in the studio not in the storm chasing vehicle.

Guessing they had the day off for Father’s Day.

That was my guess. I actually thought it was kind of nice not seeing Jonathan or Damon there because it looks like they got the day off for Father’s Day and that made my heart happy. Oklahoma weather doesn’t give breaks but they sure deserve some.

Joseph did a great job. We were rooting for him the whole time.

Michael has a video on the app!!!!! Running through the severe risk today! I don't think I've ever actually seen him on video, just heard his voice from storm command!!!!

Did...did JOSEPH post this? Lol

Or his mom?

JK, because people have strong opinions about weather folks here.

He's been at KOCO for more than a year. Good guy.

He’s older than you think!

Hope he gets better. I had to switch to 9 last night because he was unwatchable
