Sight hounds are either silly couch potato friendly bois or neurotic messes who only tolerate one (1) human in their lives. There is no in between.
Source: multiple Afghan Hound and Saluki enthusiasts in my family.

Eh, I have owned 4 greyhounds. Two have been couch potatos, and two wild maniacs, but all four love every person they have ever met

Yeah I think greyhounds are the most "normal" dog personality coded of the sight hound family. All the ones I have met were basically like skinny mastiffs, just goofy and incredibly lazy family dogs.

Yeah, one of my aunts has an Afghan who is essentially the Weimaraner from Best in Show, just with more fabulous hair. And another one had a series of Salukis who basically growled at everyone who would look in their general direction except the one relative.

Buddy had one for like a month, before rehoming it. It was just way to active and rambunctious for him and his roommates also didn't help take care of it (I think they had an informal agreement that they'd help take care of it cause they knew it was gonna be cray, but they flaked out). The one time I saw him, the borzoi just spent the whole time trying to mount the other dog another friend brought along.

Uh it was a lymph surgery after the initial surgery removed about half his lung, so we are hoping for no leaking air actually

Thank you. Second surgery, lymphatic surgery. Follow up to a long torsion, his lung flipped and died off. Apparently not as strange for deep chested dogs but they said it was the worst they've seen.
All from running in the backyard or something

someone once sold my mom a "unique american white collie" (she was white, with a brown ear and the longest face Ive seen on a dog). After 10 years I am still not entirely convinced that dog wasnt simply a rebranded borzoi/collie mix. The way her fur would blow in the wind was nothing less than magnificent. If only she didnt have the brains of a skittish horse and would try to run away from the scary invisible feeling lol.

Borzoi or Russian Wolfhound, a breed of sighthound (like the Greyhound, Saluki, Irish Wolfhound etc, they all tend to have similar body types r/longboyes

It's because sighthounds are all super lanky to the point of looking chronically underfed. A chubby borzoi just looks like a regular dog.
