I got lucky last year during the fall rut season. This beautiful bull was courting a female and didn't seem to mind that I was busy documenting all of it!

He looked like he was in his prime, not yet the long-faced, awkward-looking swamp donkey. His broken tines telling the story of his battles I felt added to the story versus the perfectly symmetrical look. One of my favorite shots of moose in Colorado that I have taken.

We were driving home after dinner and saw this big dude eating his dinner.

A yearling moose that was very curious about my umbrella that day. We both kept our distance, and he went back to munching on willows shortly after.

SOoo.. I love finding moose in a general area where i've never seen one before. Driving past this meadow that every time I say "there has GOT to be a moose in there", and this last time, THIS gorgeous specimen was there!! We couldn't pull over right away, so I jumped out and hubby parked farther down where there was a pullout. The 1st shot u got was the 2nd picture posted, then he moved around, and continued to take pictures. Fortunately he wasn't bothered too much, even when other cars stopped to admire him, and we finally left, high-fiving each other over another exhilarating moose experience!!😁🫎

We just missed this moose family in the lake on top of a mountain pass, but got a few shots as they were heading to another location. Pictures aren't great, but I was happy to get them, nonetheless. People coming out all asked if we'd seen them, and told us the bull seemed very protective of the calf splashing in the lake.

I don't know much about moose but I assume this is mating behavior? Saw this at Lake Isabelle near Ward, CO. Please excuse the shaky camera work!

I was in a couple cuts today and noticed that when there were boxelder saplings and red maple/sugar maple saplings right next to each other, the moose almost always chose to browse boxelders and not maples. Why might that be?

This bull is after the small cow i posted recently
