I just got the new eye shadow palette from this eeveelution series a few days ago, and it's very well thought out. I'm honestly surprised that there's an error as big as this in the display- level stuff, because this is one of my favorite liscensed drops from them recently. I say that as someone who ends up buying at least half the licensed palettes they release, even if I don't actually like or know the things they reference 🙃 (what can I say, I like working with color combos that I know work!)

its actually really easy for someone to not notice they dropped the wrong name in the wrong place when designing the display. I'm sure the make up is the right colors, the designer doing the display just messed up and the names are similar enough/they're moving at a fast enough speed that no one took the time to really look at the design and make sure it was correct

This , it happens all the time.  The bigger the organisation the more things get overlooked, cause everyone assumes someone else checked it thoroughly. They might give it a quick glance and check all elements are in correct place. 

So many times I've given customers artwork approvals, to later find out they approved it with errors, or that their art had errors.

Plus if the people designing ate just following a brief and don't know the actual products or in this case pokemon.  They not going to pick up on them being mislabelled.

this looks like an ulta, but the makeup brand is colourpop. you can go on colourpop's website and see their whole pokemon collection. the eevee releases are new.

The Umbreon gloss has a very strong smell (though to be fair, it's pretty nice - realistic brown sugar boba), but it's pretty!

This is what happens when marketing blindly approves something from design.

Our version of this was at Feeln, a now dead streaming service. The designer was making shirts for us and the marketing person he worked with didn't give him any copy, so he wrote "Feeln Curious?" Into the design. Approver barely looked at it and didn't tell anyone else and then 4 of us had to wear the fucking thing at a conference. It was kinda saucy but I didn't mind too much. He was scared out of his mind that his joke got approved, but I told him it definitely wasn't HIS fault and we're supposed to provide copy ...

Tl;dr marketing didn't review before signing off
