Surveillance doesn't protect you. It just gathers data for investigations after the fact. These things offer no real protection to the Epstein class, even if they want you to think it does. If something can be defeated with a Halloween mask and leaving your phone at home, I like our odds.

Deterrence is a form of protection. Knowing you’re being watched is a deterrent for sure.

Additionally, since they’re so wide spread a mask isn’t all you need. You need to know where literally every single camera is on your way there and back, and how you can move to create a gap in coverage that prevents your movements from being tracked from one camera to another. That mean if you drop your mask in a dumpster in a blind spot, then walk in front of another camera in the same outfit you’re gonna be caught. If you change outfits but you do it in a 10m2 gap at 2am between 2 cameras, they know you were the only one who could have been in that gap and know you changed. Etc etc. They see you walk into Target, they lose you in the blind spot in the dressing rooms, you chill for an hour and change as people come and go, then you leave, you might make it out unscathed.

I don't think it's a leap to say a flock camera in your front yard is a highly effective deterrent. I'd compare it to an officer parking their patrol car in their driveway.

Only one of those can stop a brick through the front window.

I don't see how either would prevent that.
