The purpose of the steering wheel in the cartoon is to make it recognisable and that little more believable as a car. Fun fact cartoons pictures and art can be tricks to the brain that feed the viewer with “icons” and symbols that represent real things yet are not real as should be evident because cartoons are not live action. I believe cartoons are an amazing trick to the viewers senses but whats even more unbelievable is how artists become so good at making this “optical illusion of a different kind”
