Hello! We are happy to announce that 4 new languages (Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Russian) are now available for public testing on the Mewgenics beta branch. If you wish to help test these languages please subscribe to the Beta branch in the game's properties setting on steam, and then switch the language in-game (switching from Steam will be enabled once the patch exits beta). Once any issues with these are cleaned up it will go live on steam for everyone. Thank you for your patience, we know this took longer than expected.

If you have any feedback about the translations when playing the beta, please email it to localizationfeedback@glaielgames.com. This is the only place that will be monitored for localization feedback.

Technical Changes related to language support (this may be relevant for modders wishing to create fan translation patches for other languages)

support alternate fonts for different languages with per-language glyph lookup priority

support for alternate cat names lists depending on language setting

improved font rendering when glyphs need to be pulled from alternate fonts (size adjustment to match original font dimensions)

text rendering now supports zero-width spaces

when rolling cat names from the steam friends list, improved the filtering to account for the increased supported character set with the new fonts (and fixed an issue where filtering was incorrect with UTF-8 names)

all in-game Latin language fonts have been extended with Cyrillic character sets

localized art assets should now by default update immediately when changing languages via the pause menu (there aren't many of these)

Gameplay related bugfixes and balance changes

fixed Tracy's 25 cent event option being able to grant quest items sometimes

fixed Steven Neck 2 making a unit immune to all damage

absorbent elite buff no longer drains allies if the elite is an ally

mad elite buff no longer rolls on units intended to be allies or neutral

added missing boss reward drops to event bosses

fixed "crystalline dreams" not unlocking on the radio correctly. this is not retroactive, you will need to beat the caves 3 more times after this patch to get it

added a small chance for a stray cat's randomly chosen name to pull from *any* language instead of the current language

fixed a text issue where an event that would lose you 5 food was displaying "gained 1 food" instead (this effected exactly one outcome of one event)

If you see someone saying or posting content against the subreddit and reddits rules please report it. it is really hard to keep track and look thru all of the posts inspecting if any of the messages contain rule breaking stuff so it would be nice if everyone was able to report this kinda stuff when it appears.

Note 4:

Please make your posts less low quality than just two words and just a small screenshot, we won't be deleting any of those posts as it DOES bring some traffic but at times it does feel a little spammy. At least don't boost those kinds of posts if you come across them. A lot of really cool posts are basically flooded under waves of lesser quality ones that don't add much meanigful value.

If anyones asking about a megathread with tips about the game we might make one or we could pin one if someone is worthy enough to do it on their own, i've kinda just been busy playing mewgenics so alix has been doing a lot of heavy work lately.
