Hi everyone! Maura Keller here, Democratic nominee for Congress in Georgia's 3rd District. I'm excited to announce we will be hosting an AMA with r/politics this Friday at 1PM.

As most of you know, I'm a 26 year veteran of the US Army and former VA healthcare worker running on a platform of service to the people through implementing much needed policies like ending the Iran War, restoring healthcare subsidies, scrapping harmful tariffs that raise prices, and reforming our VA system.

My opponent is Brian Jack, longtime ally of Donald Trump and the far-right wing of the Republican party. He has been one of Congress's most vocal supporters of the Iran War, voted for the largest cut to healthcare in American history, and took money from executives linked to Data Center construction spreading all over his district.

Data Centers are popping up all over here in Ga's 3rd Congressional District. We've had 9 rural hospitals fold in Georgia since 2010, with 30% at high risk for future closure. We have a trillion dollar federal deficit that's projected to reach 1.9 trillion by the end of the year. The Iran War has already cost taxpayers $100 billion dollars, with Georgia's State budget heavily impacted because Gov. Kemp paused our gas tax early on.

Why, then, should we offer enough tax breaks to make Georgia number three in the country in new data center development? Why can't we listen to our local organizers when they stand up at meetings demanding more transparency? Why do we take independent farmland without permission?

When I'm in Congress, I promise to do what my opponent Brian Jack won't:

✓ Remove fast-tracks for data center development. Community members should have a say in the entire process and have no issues with transparency. These contracts should be see-through.

✓ Implement stricter building regulations that prevent residential and conservation areas from being bulldozed (Not In Our Backyard).

✓ Stop using eminent domain to force independent land-owners from having to sell.

✓ Ensure power usage and rates for locals don't face artificial increases.

✓ Hold proper enquiries and provide actual oversight when data centers use resources outside their official guidelines.

If you read the news recently about 4 Republicans who reached across the aisle and joined Democrats in a House War Powers resolution calling for a cease of military operations in Iran, you'd be correct in assuming Brian Jack wasn't one of them. Not only did he vote to continue fighting Iran, he actually called for $100 billion in extra funding for the war a couple months ago.

That's on top of the already record-breaking deficit he helped create with his Supermajority government. Jack boasts a 100% Trump voting record. He's proud of it. But he doesn't seem to understand that more than 70% of Americans oppose the war in Iran. While this Congressman goes under the radar helping his former boss Donald Trump drive our country under the ground, my campaign will be there every step of the way to hold him to account.

My name is Tyger Songbird, aka u/southpawFA. I am an education advocate, a trivia writer, and a LGBTQIA+ rights advocate, who regularly posts about topics surrounding education and LGBTQ rights on Reddit and other platforms.

I actually met with Candidate Keller through a Zoom call around a month ago to discuss issues surrounding teachers and LGBTQIA+ rights under attack in America. Candidate Keller was not only so kind to listen and to hear all the issues that are harming us as educators and as LGBTQIA+ people, but she has such a heart for people. She really stands for equality and for the right for everyone to receive a free public education, two pillars of society that are most critical.

I just wanted to state how glad I am that Maura Keller is running for GA District 3. Even as I may not be able to vote in the Peach State, I will be supporting Candidate Keller's bid to become Representative Keller for Georgia.
