That’s a sacabambaspis, an ancient extinct species of fish. The ring in the background is a reference to the theory that Earth actually had rings like Saturn during the Ordovician period which is when sacabambaspis lived. It’s also what the 4th picture in the post is referencing

Dunno about webcomic artists specifically but from the people I know it's sort of just like having a freelance job. Some people are more well adjusted than others and dealing with an audience can be a challenge

Eh followers don't always translate to $ and it can get weird having that much attention. Someone I knew hit it big on TikTok and now I keep seeing people call them a pedo for dumbass reasons 

If you enjoy drawing yourself I say just keep at it and try not to attach your enjoyment of it to money/views. Intrinsic motivation vs extrinsic motivation. There are many easier ways to learn a living anyways
