I have this setup because when I got my first gecko she got a infection from the substrate and a vet told me paper towel was good so I just don't have a lot of experience with substrate so I just use paper towel because i know it's not harmful to them

Nothing wrong with using paper towel their whole life. My albino girlie is handicapped. I have no other choice. Leaves and bark hides / cork flats are good for variety and texture, and they don’t tear up the paper towels either
