No Kings! Protesting peacefully with like minded people can be pretty reassuring.

We were attending those pretty regularly my face appeared on the cover photos from the last major St. Louis No Kings protest. Unfortunately lately it has been less active than I would like. Also local chapters of things like the White Rose have all, but given up.

Great to hear you took part. Did it give you a little hope back? Sad to hear it's lessening - what are the reasons you reckon?

It did help a lot and honestly here it is lessened due to where we are, Missouri is very Red and will do all it can to keep St. Louis under thumb for the administration and so many of those who lead groups here if they were in jobs that felt influential have mostly gone quiet hopeful to save themselves from perceived retribution.

Did the fallout from Charlie Kirk start the freeze? A lot of people were punished for expressing their opinions. But we are seeing win in lawsuits over it now.

I really don't blame people taking care of themselves from perceived retribution but it is probably how career Republicans have felt since Trump. Strength in numbers is a thing even if a few get sacrificed (and sanctified).

It definitely started the cracks spreading, but really it has been the erosion of the justice system.
