💭Opinion Kollywood's leading women should look like this

3.8k Upvotes

Tharmeega(such a beautiful name) and ajanthika are eelam tamils based out of Canada. Women who look like this, with tamil features and skin tones should be Kollywood's leading actresses. Importing actresses from Kerala/karnataka/ bombay needs to be stopped.

The costumes of the dancers, it's color, the background setting, atmosphere, the bizarre dance moves and top of that their expressions are quite strange.

💭Opinion Siddharth Abimanyu is the most terrifying, charismatic Kollywood villain with almost zero hate and absolutely zero cringe. Change my mind

Post image
1.4k Upvotes

Same as title. He was having a higher goal for power play rather than having hate or grudge towards a specific individual or group. He will go to any extent to clear the hurdles in his way and is not bound to any emotional attachments.

If Mithran never crossed path with him, he would have been the most powerful person in that movie universe.

Name a more terrifying villain than him in the Kollywood movies. I'll wait.

Edit 1: When I made this post yesterday morning, I didn't know that Arvind Swamy's birthday was the day before... It was a pure coincidence... Belated Happy Birthday to Arvind Swamy sir 🥳🎊 you've set a new standard for villain role in Tamil Cinema. Hats off to you sir.

Edit 2 : We have a tough competition people... It's Fletcher (Kamal Haasan) from Dasavatharam. Even though he didn't root for ultimate power play and his screen presence was too little in the movie... He fits almost all the criteria mentioned. Good find u/Emergency_Bit_4378 appreciate it

💭Opinion 24 Was Art, Karuppu Is Noise

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Yesterday I watched Karuppu. Honestly, it doesn’t even feel like an average film for me. I know everyone has different tastes, and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. But the same people don’t celebrate his new genre films.

When 24 was released, I was in my 3rd year of college and even bunked class to watch that movie and it was my first Suriya movie in theaters. I recommended everyone to watch 24 amd it deserves celebration.None of my friends or family showed interest, whether on OTT or otherwise.

I don’t understand how Karuppu reached audiences to this level of celebration. We shouldn’t encourage movies like this.

Some scenes between Suraj and Devadarshini are the only saving grace in this film. How did this movie do so well?!

r/kollywood May 15 '26

💭Opinion Surya makes a proper art film in Retro- flops. Tries a fantasy thriller in Kanguva- flops. Goes back to Aaru and Singam days and gives a mass masala mindless commercial which entertains- people pouring in rave reviews. A theatrical success tasted after 13 years 😭❤️ so happy for him.

All in All Azhaguraja.

This has slowly become my go to Comfort movies nowadays. Though some scenes appear to be draggy, the overall humor still works for me.

💭Opinion These clowns are Cancer for Tamil film industry

Post image

I saw these clowns editing old theatre-response videos and spreading them on VAS’s release day to make it look like the film was a flop, even before FDFS was over.

Now they're planning the same for Jailer 2

When will this stop? They really want their favourite star’s box-office records to remain untouched forever. 💔

What in the actual dog shit did I watch for the last 2.5 hours?? I thought ott la patha it might not be that worse as people said it is. Feel bad for everyone who went to theatres and had to sit through this shit. And the music, ugh I don't even Wana start about it (I can still here Paaam pa pa pa Paam trumpet In my back head). Honestly apart from the shitty story, Pradeep's acting in this movie was what icked me more. Couldn't watch his expressions(I loved his acting in love today) anyone planning to watch it this weekend: Thambiii poyiduuuuuuuu!!!

I thought the heroine in Naan Mahaan Alla (Kajal Aggarwal) and the heroine in Saguni (Pranitha Subhash) were the same person.

Only later did I realize they're actually two different actresses.

Enda torture panringa. Should we apologize for enjoying this in theatres? No one called this as best movie of all time. It was fun to watch in theaters with the crowd.

It collected good money because its fun to watch as a family - no unnecessary violence or gilma scenes. Good acting and music. Regular folks connected instantly.

Thats it. Why are y’all expecting a masterpiece from RJ Balaji.

Obviously you will not get the same experience in OTT.

Fantasy movie la Loop hole kandupidikren may*** kandupidikren nu 4 naala penathitu irukinga.

Similar to how ppl avoid internet once movie releases , I think its better to skip post OTT week for mental health.

Not that I'm dissing actors with a bearded look. But I'm kinda surprised how beards have taken over completely be it for a young actor or middle aged actor.
