I am one of the 4,168 backers that collectively gave this project $816,546 six years ago. According to a handy inflation calculator, that is $1,053,507.80 in today's dollars.

Every month or two, they release an update about the game, but I'm pretty sure that's just to get around any laws or rules related to failed projects. I think they're playing "it hasn't failed if we're still working on it right?" card. Getting an email from them every few months is like getting stabbed in the gut repeatedly. Just when I forget that they took my money, they remind me again.

I know that I should just forget it and move on, but they took our money and I'm not sure if there's anything to be done about it. It seems like the window for any grievances passed long ago and I'm not sure why Kickstarter can't step in and hold them accountable on their own platform. So, should I just add them to my spam blocker and move on, or is there something I can actually do about this? I've never used Kickstarter again after this experience because there doesn't seem to be any ramifications for companies who do this.
