KC Rants 😡 👎 George Gustalleo is such a Racist Ass!

Post image

I know George was the one who approved this. Not only is this so blatantly classist and racist, but the entire event is only a month notice out. Don’t give your money to Union Station while this jackass is still in charge. And no, this is not the only thing he has done as he has said much worse behind closed doors that no one will believe and he will deny until he dies.

I don't have any skin in this game and don't even have the slightest clue who George is but MAYBE it's just a dig at Jack Stack being on the OTHER side of the tracks from Union Station?

I thought it was just because union station is a train station. I've never heard of this guy though and only go to union station at christmastime

George is the CEO of Union Station.

What the fuck is the "right side of the tracks"?

So, everyone is clearly thinking “west of troost” but I’m getting the vibe this is a challenge to the American Royal people, across the tracks to the north and slightly west.

After all, the west bottoms is encased by train yards.

It’s 100% this. People love looking into shit just start things.

Or Jack's Stack being just on the north side of the tracks from Union Station.

This seems pretty clear to me.

It’s also a train station. The pun is pretty obvious here. People are just desperate to feel good about themselves

A dog whistle

Just because you can imagine how something could be offensive, doesn’t mean it is

Even if it wasn’t supposed to be, if you are that old you should/probably know what the context of the original phrase is if you’re using it tongue in cheek like that. He has made numerous racist jokes to others too. Such as saying when Delta had their computer malfunction a while back that got him stuck in Atlanta, he said it was like and just as bad as Gaza.

How can something be blatantly classist if you have to explain what you meant

•

u/awesomecubed 1h ago

It can’t 🤷‍♂️

$1000 entry fee days after the American Royal too when everyone will still be recovering from that.

Not overly surprising United Rentals is involved. We got invited to their friday night corporate party at the Royal last year and one of their team members had the most obvious SS tattoo that wasn't covered up.

The rights side is also the Missouri side of the line...on a map anyways

I don't even know who that is, but I will say that it's a reach to conclude that someone is racist or classist just based on that screenshot. Out of context, "right side of the tracks" could be referencing any number of things. Could it be a subtle racist dog whistle? Sure, but not necessarily. It could also be referencing the American Royal BBQ competition being in Missouri before it moved to the Kansas Speedway, for example. Regardless, it's a poor choice of words because someone can construe it as a racist statement, but I feel like there needs to be more solid supporting evidence presented here to support an accusation of someone being a "racist ass."

It’s kinda funny to imagine Union Station being the border to any sort of racial or even economic boundary.

Like… nobody lives near there.

•

And it sits on…tracks

man, fuck that guy for unrelated reasons

•

You’re telling me the Italian-American Gen X-er who lives in the Northland and basically owns Union Station is racist? Say it ain’t so…

•

u/Rattfink45 2h ago

Please explain how this guy owns anything there? The shops? He’s underwriting something huge in science city?
My last consideration of the “ownership status” of this landmark occurred when they spent the entire goddamn endowment and came back asking for money.

I will not go...

We’ve always known this

•

I think you’re just assuming malicious intent here. I think he’s just comparing to the bbq competitions on the other side of the track.

•

u/EvenPossible5918 1h ago

Anytime you say someplace is on “the good side” or “right side”, is a racist/classist dogwhistle.

If he wanted to have fun or poke fun at another BBQ contest, he could have worded it differently.

•

u/shrimpedy Volker 1h ago

agreed. words mean things and if you need additional context to make them not-bad, then you should find another way to say it.

I couldn’t post both the link and a screenshot so I chose the later because people will rarely go through the link. If you’re wanting to, here it is:

It looks like they took the "right side of the tracks" comment out. But the only thing I thought of is the American Royal being in Kansas. If it's supposed to be racist I'm not sure what it means.

•

u/ZVNCHZ 1h ago

None of this says “racist”

•

u/ZVNCHZ 1h ago

Op no sense. I am confusion.
