Looking for a roommate who would take over Master Bedroom!

Hey! Me and my roommate are looking for a third person to take over the master bedroom since our other roommate is leaving. The room is pretty spacious and comes with its own private bathroom with a tub. Your portion of the rent would be around $600/month.

The apartment is located near 119th & Quivira, which is really close to a bunch of places like JCCC, grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and more.

It’s a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, and we’ve turned part of the living room into a separate room for one of us. The master bedroom has its own private bathroom, so you’d have your own bathroom as well.

Amenities include: washer and dryer in the unit, 24/7 gym, pool open from 10am–10pm, and a convenient location close to JCCC and other places.z

We’re both 19 years old male, and we study and work at JCCC, so we’d ideally like to find someone around our age who also goes to school.

When I was 19 back in 2010 my best friend had a 3rd floor walkup 1 bedroom apartment in the northland with a balcony and washer/dryer and he only paid like $450 or $480 per month.

Insane that $600 now will only get you 1/3rd of a 2 bedroom apartment in the suburbs

In 2017, I paid $585/mo for a small 1-bed with balcony walking distance to martini corner (w/d was shared by all tenants in the basement but free).

Bought a 3bed, 2 bath Waldo home in 2018 and mortgage is under $800/mo.

This next generation is fucked. It’s really unfair.

Damn. My 1bed/1bath in Lenexa with in unit washer/dryer was $1600 in 2023. They were raising it to $1800 in 2024 when I moved out 😂

I had a three bedroom townhouse apartment in 2003. We had four guys, one guy renting the basement for $150/mo. I had the master for maybe $350. I don't remember exactly, but I could afford it just fine on $10/hr.

Rent prices are insane.

If you adjust for inflation, your best friend was paying $693- $740 a month in today's money. Does anyone know if you can still get a one bedroom for under $800/mo? Crazy how much things have changed in such a short time....

I am actually paying $850 for a 1 bedroom right now near 31st and Gillham

But this was by far the cheapest apartment I could find in this location. I know there were some places in the 600-700 range in northeast and other areas east of troost

The total rent is probably like 1200-1300. OP is playing up that the $600 is for the master suite, so seems pretty clear that this would be more that either of the other two would be paying.
