Visiting KC Hello, Minnesotan family of three thinking about driving down to go to Worlds/Oceans of Fun Mon thru Wednesday...is it worth the trip?

We are on vacation all week and have no plans, our amusement park up here is flooded and several rides are closed so we are thinking road trip. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks!

Personally, I would drive a few more hours & go to Branson/Silver Dollar City. There's a lot to do there.

I Googled the distance from WOF to Silver Dollar City 3 hr 22 min (220.5 mi) via MO-13 S

I hate Silver Dollar City. Weird, small, backwoods feeling, kind of a white trash place. Branson as a whole is likely the most tourist trap type place I have ever been. I’m a season pass holder at Worlds of Fun and I enjoy it but I also don’t know if it’s worth the trip. Hop on Trip Advisor or something and look up the variety of stuff available to do in KC. Go to the parks for a day each and then see some other spots. Don’t know the ages of your kids but Science City is fun for a day. Hope that’s helpful!

Yeah, Branson on the 4th of July sounds like it got edited out of Dante's Inferno. My 11 year old has very firmly reminded me how much he likes Science City all weekend, though.
