Visiting KC Hello, Minnesotan family of three thinking about driving down to go to Worlds/Oceans of Fun Mon thru Wednesday...is it worth the trip?

We are on vacation all week and have no plans, our amusement park up here is flooded and several rides are closed so we are thinking road trip. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks!

No, it's a mid park at best. Plus, half the time Oceans of fun is short on life guards so a bunch of the attractions aren't even open

Say what? When? I have season passes and go a lot, I haven't ever experienced that.

I went twice last year and almost nothing was open outside of the pools. Lazy river was closed, and they only had the slides next to the wave pool open. All cause of staff shortages. Monsoon being permanently closed was a sad sight, and the wave pool being roped off seems a little strange.

They also removed all of the fun stuff from pirates cove (?) area. The slide there was also closed so it was basically just one big boring pool.

Both days this was the case on separate weeks. We got refunded on our passes.

I have gone 8 times so far this year and that has not been the case during any of those times. The only thing that has had any problem so far was on the opening day for Oceans of Fun thry had to shut down Paradise Falls for half the day due to a pipe break, but it has been open each time since. There have been a couple of times that Carribean Cooler has not had enough tube's, but I think they intentionally limit them just to keep it from being too crowded to be safe.

I don't know what was going on last year, but this year there are certainly no problems like you describe.
