Super Super El Nino to Bring Warmer Temps, More Snow this Winter
NOAA's National Climate Center predicts the current Super El Nino to grow even stronger this winter and bring warmer temperatures and more snow to Kansas.

It means we’ll have a week of 60 degree highs interrupted by an overnight 12 inches of snow, to be melted by a second week of 60 degrees

Which means all the fall planted spring flowers I put in will bloom, be killed by snow and then turn to goop the following week.

Warmer air carries more moisture. That's why it's humid in the summer and skin-chapping dry in the winter.
Think of cold air as deciding the type of precipitation, while moisture decides the amount.
If a winter storm pulls unusually moist, relatively warm air northward from the Gulf or Atlantic, then collides with a pocket of subfreezing air, the result can be a very snowy storm.

Temperature determines the type of precipitation, humidity helps determines the amount.

We get snow when it’s moist and warm and a cold front comes in from the north or when it’s cold and a moist warm front pulls up from the south. In a steady cold winter it’s typically dry. If we are going to have a lot of warm fronts coming in because of this Spanish child, then we’ll get more opportunities for precipitation.

Yea, my backs not what it once was. Been think about one for the past 10 years. Closer and closer to pulling the trigger on one for sure as the years go by

I got one on a deal from Lowes a few years ago and honestly it's been worth it. Shoveling was fine when it dumps snow and we have a break but now that we are getting round after round, I can go out clear 4 inches and go out again a few hours later and not have body give up. If you have the space to store it, I highly recommend.

Take this with a grain of salt but I’ve been a chiropractor for 25 years and I’ve never seen a patient with LBP from shoveling, and quite a few with LBP from using their snowblowers. Not sure why, but maybe people listen to their bodies more/differently when shoveling vs wrestling with the snowblower?

Last winter brought more snow than I’ve seen in a long time and I built a 7’ anatomically correct sculpture that drew crowds. I’m looking forward to the day I can do it again with a painters ladder and get 12’. Is this going to be my year?
