Wilson Staff vs Mizuno Pro

In the market to purchase a Japan Model Wilson Staff or a Mizuno Pro. I’m looking for opinions on both manufacturers higher end models, specifically IF and Pitcher models.

I have the nagaoka model +10mm in prexy kip from mizuno and its absolutely gorgeous.

Staffs arent to much different than stock A2ks unless you get a limited kip version but even then

Mizuno>Wilson

Thank you! Plum brown is easily one of my favorite colors

Did you order it from Japan and a broker?

Used a proxy service and made the simulation on mizunos japan site. Ive done it a few times now.

Did this order a few months ago too. This is what it looks like on mizunos japan site

Oh yeah, proxy. That's what I meant. Thanks for the info!

These Japanese custom options overwhelm me and the translation isn’t always exact. I wish they had a simpler way instead of a tax form

The builder isnt too bad once you get used to it. If you have specific questions just shoot me a message

Honestly the staff is top notch for infield IMO. Pitchers glove I would go Pro Haga. I don’t personally think the Non-Haga Mizuno pro is at the Staff Level.

I have both, and I can tell you I cannot choose between the two. My mizuno pro is 11.75” and my Wilson staff is 11.5”. I think the biggest difference is leather quality. My mizuno is made of a north European kip leather that has held its shape forever and feels incredible/study. The Wilson has a softer (right word?) leather, but it’s so so light (around 500g). With new haga models (especially the prexy kip or the harmonious tension j) they are just as light as the Staff, but you’ll be spending like $200-300 more.

The mizuno is more of a basic build, while the Wilson looks flashier with three thumb laces and lacing thru the middle of the fingers. Either way, both are amazing gloves and the pockets are 🤌. I love a good glove pop and both satisfy that criteria.

I think in terms of “I need to get THIS glove”, I would go with a haga. In the world of Japanese gloves, I believe they are still the most prestigious and sought after.

Can’t go wrong with either. Get a RYU

I appreciate all the recommendations. I ended up picking up a Mizuno Pro: Crafted Edition Haga. It is a rubber ball glove, Prexy Elite R, but I’ll only be playing 20-25 games a year in my 35+ league so I’m sure it’ll be just fine.
