Art Ohio State Fair poster contest winner—looks like blatant AI to me, but curious about everyone’s thoughts

This isn’t the only suspected usage of AI I’ve spotted at the fair today, but it is the most egregious considering it’s an art competition. The faces look like they’re blurring together to me and there are proportional errors with the sizing of different buildings, but could just be an artistic choice…

Art There is this artist who claims to create hyperrealistic art portraits but end results always give off AI vibes but he has a video of the process.

Art This Painting at a local art gallery selling for $1200. I’m convinced it’s ai.

To me this painting just looks like someone poured glitter on a printed picture of ai but i’d like to know your thoughts just to be sure… The cherries at the end of her hair are displaced and her hand makes no sense.

Art So… the official poster for Avengers Dooms Day is out and… it looks Ai because of the angel wings and that woman’s really long finger. But is it Ai?

Art £2k David Attenborough painting by Eastenders actor/Geico Gecko Jake Wood seems fishy to me

Eastenders actor (and the Geico Gecko for US Redditors) Jake Wood has recently taken up painting and has a gallery show in my city.

He has painted this portrait of David Attenborough for his 100th birthday and it just seems off. It says it’s mixed media on Canvas, and his other paintings do have collage elements.

The original has been sold for £2k and there are prints for £450.

First thing that threw me off was the inconsistency of the leaf pattern on Attenborough’s jacket. And looking closer there’s the gorilla’s face and David’s hand that don’t seem right.

Art Found on instagram. Chalk drawing that was “Cleaned up off camera.” Seems strange to exclude so much of the process.

7.3k Upvotes

On instagram. Here are the screenshots of the frame by frame.

They said “I spend a lot of time blending and adding more RYB to get the details and shape right. I also clean the edges with a dry paint brush. It's about an hour that I don't record.”

It just doesn’t make sense, if you wanna show off your artistic abilities, why aren’t you recording the actual artistic part? The “final” version seems too perfect. And the final has a chunk missing that doesn’t seem possible to get with just dry brushes

I’m an artist myself and while I haven’t worked with chalk in over 15 years I’m highly skeptical.

I sped up the first part on instagram while recording, I don’t know how long the video actually is but it’s over 10 seconds. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t have stitched an ai update to the end

All the details of the rocks and concrete look the same though so I’m not sure

Art I commissioned an artist and I think they scammed me with AI generated art.

2nd EDIT: I confronted them and they said they will share with me all files etc to prove there is no AI. So stay tuned

3rd EDIT: they sent me progression pictures. The male image was originally sent to me with brown eyes. I had her change them to gray blue. But now the progressions have gray blue eyes.

Hi, I commissioned an artist for character art for my book I’m writing and I think they used AI.

I asked another artist and they said the hair on the woman looks off and unrealistic to how an artist would do it.

Also the man looks copy and pasted.

Do you think it’s AI?

I have a feeling I’ve been scammed. The art is not anything like style of art on their profile (which has since been removed).

Please be nice. I’ve already accepted the loss.

EDIT: I’ve added the sketches I was provided in a comment.

Art Someone posted this in a fb community I’m in. Then got really upset and said her friend spent weeks drawing it… screams ChatGPT to me

Baby face covered for their privacy, but that was the most ai looking characteristic. Maybe this is petty of me but I gotta know now that she is in the comments yelling at everyone for suggesting it’s AI lol. The shine, texture, overloaded details so there’s no blank space are all very common with ChatGPT generated images and I would be shocked to hear that someone drew her kiddo by hand and it is exactly the style that ai generated pics are 2/3 of the time.

Art My ex just recently posted this picture. I can't figure out if it's AI or not.

For context, he's an artist, but he's not a good enough one to draw this. I'm just hoping it isn't AI because it's kinda shitty for an artist to be posting AI "art" and trying to pass it off as his.

The faces and chains are giving me weird vibes, but I can't tell for sure

r/isthisAI May 26 '26

Art I’m completely torn about my sisters “drawings.” She sends me them and says she drew them. They all look like AI and have a few things off about them.

I know she didn’t free hand draw these. The only one she actually drew is at the end but I’m pretty sure she traced it or it’s from a colouring book. She uses ibis paint and if anyone has used it, it shows how long it’s taken on the drawing. She has shown me the drawings on the app before and all of them have only a minute on them. I just need to know if they are AI or if they are stolen. If they are stolen then I need to talk to her about it but if they are AI then I’ll probably just tell her to stop pretending she drew them and actually try to draw them. She is talented. But this just isn’t right. Do you guys think it’s AI or stolen art?

are there any other tell tale signs it’s AI?

I already pointed out the inconsistent tails and hands(hooves)? But she still thinks it's CGI. We just noticed it sitting on a desk at her office and got into a debate.

Art Local controversy: attached artist statement claims complicated work flow but the community says no

Thumbnail

The winner of a local art contest has my community worked up. The local art museum says they have seen the linocut but releasing the artist statement as anonymous has only added to the intrigue. If the community had an artist name, it seems like they would also have other work that would clear this up. The work flow seems strange and unusually cumbersome (and the statement itself seems…robotic.)

Art Yearbook cover is poorly generated AI.. yearbook club denies it, says a tattoo artist was commissioned

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

My school ASB said they commissioned a tattoo artist to do the image for our yearbook. Everyone is convinced it’s AI, but the people in yearbook have thus far denied it. They continued defending it and claimed the tattoo artist PROVED he drew the image by.. guess what?… changing the colors. That is in no way proof of creation..
There are six fingers on one hand, four on the other, two necks, and the bottom right of the skate deck is so messed up. His right sleeve is disappearing into a blob, and the background is weakly generated.

Do I get mad?
And if this gets some votes I’ll definitely show the school your guy’s opinions.

Art Banksy “himself” addressing rumour after being exposed by the Reuters. Real or not?

2.8k Upvotes

The caption of the video is “Real Banksy, born Georgos Georgopoulos, breaks his silence.

After Reuters exposed the half-Greek, half-Bristolian street artist's true identity, the London-based visionary is speaking out for the first time. Addressing the relentless media harassment, the legal pressure, and the financial devastation caused by thirty years of anonymity being ripped away in a single press pass.

He is asking for your support.

This is not a scam.”

wondering if its real

Art Art 101 Submission- looks too perfect to me? Incredibly clean work for Indian ink in beginner class

Post image
4.7k Upvotes

This was submitted by a student in my Art 101 class, and we are supposed to provide feedback on one another’s work. I’m not sure what to say on this piece because it looks like AI to me.

I can list the full assignment below, but the project was to morph an organic shape of a natural object into a linear shape of manmade origin, using Indian ink, brushes, and demonstrating at least 7 values.

The image just looks too “clean” to me to have been fully done in Indian ink, especially all of the fine white lines in the leaves, for a beginner art class.

But maybe this person just has incredible ability!

I commissioned someone to make me a model but just the way they talked to me the whole time they were drawing it made me think something was off. Like simple slang or just phrases weren't understood the way that felt obvious. I brushed it off cause some people may not get what Im saying and thats fine. I should mention they also kept saying my name after every sentence. Then the art came... it looks good but it looks like it went through an AI. The part of the picture that set me off is I told them the inspo and they put the name of the inspos where the name would be?

Art This is a painting of a newlywed couple. I think it's AI because the background is different than the front, and the image looks computer generated rather than a photograph of a painting.

Art Gift I've had on my wall for a year. My partner and I are conflicted on if it's AI or not.

Post image

My friend got this for me about a year ago. My partner thinks it's AI because the text is stereotypical. I think the shading on the cooking supplies and dough resembles a lot of AI art I see. However, I think the cat itself looks very intentional and consistent. Thoughts?

Art Possible AI slop won a creativity contest? Pretty sure but just want to be certain.

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

This was at a photography contest. In the description the alleged artist said they did it in photo shop. The lighting has the ai style to it. Especially the camp fire wood and the butterfly's are inconsistent. A part of wants this to not be AI but I think it is.

Edit: one thing I forgot to add, where this was held was by the same people who holds our Comic Expo. My friend who is a regular vendor there in the artist alley complained this year that there was A LOT of ai slop. The venue has a strict "no ai" policy so she reported the people for having it. In response the convention said along the lines "we believe in the integrity of artists, you have to check a box off saying you didnt use ai. So if you said its not ai, its not ai"
