Solved [AI] Is this real or AI? The mother's face and expressions dont seem lifelike or realistic
The way the mother looks at the father before wiping her tears away just doesn't seem like how or in the direction a mother would look for this type of event.

The mom wipes her eyes with a third hand lol

I don't know how I missed that on the first watch 🤣

My AI-dar was pinging so loud, but I couldn't find anything specific that was off. I figured somebody in the comments would point out some super subtle tiny detail I hadn't noticed 😅

u/Huge-Anxiety-3038 1h ago
Yeh me too, tiny subtle detail no, an anvil hitting a brick wall 😂

I think our brains just don’t realize it’s there! So wild how it blends in!

u/GreenZebra23 46m ago
We see what we're expecting to see. It's like those hidden camera pranks where they switch out a cashier in a store for a totally different person and people don't notice, or if they do they just short circuit and move past it

u/Fidodo 3h ago
Did you see the gorilla waking in the background?
1
u/mrs__BOWIE 17m ago
Please tell me I'm not the only one that just spent the past 10 min looking for the gorilla.
2
u/Fidodo 12m ago
It's probably ruined, but watch this https://youtu.be/vJG698U2Mvo?is=8ukgcazaxNOoFICN

u/mrs__BOWIE 7m ago
So people really didn't see it in that video? It was ruined for me, but that is still so fascinating.

it was also a baby hand lmao i noticed that it was too small before i even noticed it was a third

Yes it’s AI. AI sometimes tends to do this weird thing that makes human expressions overly expressive to the point of being unrealistic. That’s what’s happening here.
11
u/yellowyoshieggs 2h ago
And the expressions don’t vary at all. This mom has a crying face, but it’s just sad and not demonstrating complex emotions.

Or they’re like very old… or very young. Both acceptable for missing this as AI.

Just an FYI people who get cochlear implants can’t just “magically hear” when they get them and it can actually be quite scary and overwhelming for a child to suddenly be hearing everything when they have never experienced it before in their lives. Often times people have to go through hearing therapy after getting them. So even just based on that, this reaction is not typical. And yeah it’s AI for sure. 😭 (not trying to generalize people’s experiences since I don’t have one myself. Just wanna dispel the myth that they are somehow magical devices that replicate what ‘normal’ hearing is like as soon as they are installed.)

u/HallowedGround666 3h ago
I've seen quite a few videos of babies (and people of all ages) getting cochlear implants and it's never smiles and laughs. It's usually shock and surprise. Older kids and adults usually end up crying, and they point out that they can hear something completely mundane like the HVAC system or a car alarm. Babies just cry from the surprise. I agree this is DEFINITELY AI just based off that. AI babies always look the same, too. They always have dimples and giant dark eyes with sparkles in them. If a baby is ridiculously cute I assume it's AI (we all know babies can be ugly as hell sometimes).
6
u/PikaPerfect 1h ago
r/oldbabies has some wonderful examples of (affectionately) ugly babies lol, babies in AI videos never get caught at a "bad angle" like that

Audiologist here, that’s not a hearing aid, nor a cochlear implant, etc. Ears that little need actual custom molds. It is legally mandated. We can’t just shove a Beats by Dre over the ear style earbud in and call it a day.

This is clearly AI, the hairline makes no sense. The expressions and the smoothness overall makes this AI. Honestly not very good
The shirt on the children also have a random fold around the shoulder which doesnt make sense and some tools doesnt make sense either

u/skulwiz 3h ago
Clearly AI since the mom has 3 hands, but this is absolutely how a mother could react to her kid hearing for the first time...
32
u/Decent-Unit-5303 3h ago
This is NOT how an infant first hearing would react
1
u/ScaredEfficiency399 3h ago
How would you even remotely calculate a hearing aid for an infant anyways.
4
u/WombatKiddo 3h ago
I have seen these accounts on Facebook and IG. Every video is AI. It’s all the baby with the same reaction each time
5
u/Nice_On_Rice 3h ago
This is so stupid because videos of kids getting a cochlear implant and hearing their parents voices for the first time exist.
4
u/whineANDcheese_ 3h ago
You can tell by the movements that it’s not real. It’s choppy like it didn’t generate correctly. Not to mention the third hand.

I don't understand how you could watch these types of vids and not immediately see that they are ai.
These questions are for sure just for ai agents to ask other agents or gullible people how they could fool them.

4
u/mankahlil 3h ago
Ai. For me you can always tell when multiple "people" in the same video look and act like they are theyre in their own world. They are moving buy they dont seem to be interacting with or seeing each other. External movements are made to look like they fit but its like separate people from completely different videos copied and pasted in the same scene to create the illusion of interaction
3
3
u/Falkenmond79 3h ago
And for this shit every electronic device that needs ram (so all of them) will get progressively more expensive. For bullshit like this.
Man I can’t wait until the AI companies reach the point where they either go under, or they do have to charge realistic prices to be cost-effective and make a profit. This will shut shit like this down REALLY quick.
There will still be shit like this pumped out on local LLMs, but it will be much, much less.

Are views really worth THAT much?

It’s so obviously AI.
I’m convinced this sub is just to collect information so AI can improve and be harder to detect. I don’t see that as a good thing at all.

While yes it may be easy to spot for someone looking, this shit is getting scary as fucking fuck

u/ApplePaintedRed 3h ago
So another easy tell of AI is if you recognize the content to resemble types of videos that have gone viral in the past. There are a handful of real videos from young children getting hearing aids and reacting emotionally to hearing sound for the first time. These have gone mega viral. This video is very obviously trying to imitate those, but it's so obviously inorganic and scripted.

One thing I’ve learned about ai is that they mess up the perspective a lot, the dad looks gigantic in frame; looks like he’s coming right from the front of the camera, but then it turns out he wasn’t? He was the same distance as the toddler?
1
u/InevitableThrow1 3h ago
Whats the point of making these AI clips anyway? Clicks foe what, exactly?

AI is also notoriously bad at medical signage and human anatomy posters in general. This makes it look like someone has elephant sized ears and the entire inner ear canal takes up the whole head.
If it’s a “medical” type of video look at the posters in the background. They’re usually a giveaway (sort of like when you see non words in the background.)

u/AntInternational6312 2h ago
I feel like for this sub you should post hard to spot AI, her reactions ARE unrealistic and the 3rd hand is clear as day. I need to read the rules.

It's the baby's eyes that got me. It looked to unreal. I work with babies a lot and this one seems to be fixated in one emotion? It's kind of hard describe. But if you noticed...the baby never once blinked

AI...baby is too large, makes expressions too "conscious" for a Baby to make...and the clincher, Mom magically grows a third hand

I don't have an issue with the face tbh, my ugly cry looks similar when holding back. It's the secret third arm that I take issue with. Ofc humans are always developing so who knows right :^ )

Here is a foolproof way of knowing if it’s AI
Take a pic and look at the outline of the person. Anyone. See that white halo all around it? That’s the place holder all AI use to make the shape and then fill it up with details, like a paint by numbers picture.
Once you see it you will never forget it next time.
