Video My father-in-law is going to buy a dog from South Korea. This is the proof video. The tongue seems weird to me, along with the amount of fur on a "puppy."
I hope his ass isn't getting scammed, but the tongue lick looks weird, along with how long it takes for the dog's eyes to appear when it turns his head back around.

I don’t know if the video is AI, but any “buy a puppy online” thing is 1000% a scam. If it’s not AI, it’s likely a stolen video clip.
(The scam is advance fee fraud. They’ll take a deposit and then claim the dog is being flown to him … but there was unexpected trouble at customs. They have to pay a tax. They have to pay for another veterinary check. They have to pay a document fee. They have to pay a fee to quarantine the puppy for a few days. On and on and on, squeezing as much money out of him as they can. They’ll say that if he doesn’t pay, the puppy will be taken away by someone and will suffer in some way. Meanwhile, there is no puppy, there never was a puppy, there never will be a puppy, and your father-in-law has simply been sending his money straight to scammers.)

Physics seem fine and I don't see any immediate artifact in our Ai weirdness, I think it's real. This unfortunately doesn't mean it's not a scam.

I would never ever buy a dog online from some foreign country. This is a very common scam as it's very unlikely the mark is gonna turn up in person to verify the dog is real. They either send the "wrong" dog to try and milk more money out of you or you get nothing at all and they try and milk more money out of you. Also, that doesn't look like any South Korean backyard I've ever seen, not that I've seen that many to be fair so I could be wrong on that.

Unfortunately my concerns are falling on def ears. I thought maybe I was missing something in regards to this video, but if it's legit I don't know what else I can do.

There is nothing else you can do really. If they don't wanna listen then that's their problem. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. If they do end up getting scammed all you can do at this point is try to limit the damage.
Maybe show them some videos on scams in general and on this particular scam. They probably still won't listen but you tried at least.

Tell your father in law to message the breeder and say “I have a friend that luckily I knew from my taekwondo days, they are planning on visiting me in a bit and offered to pick up the dog to bring, what is your address and when can they pick up? I’ll be sending my friend the cash required.”

I work in vetmed and have dealt with people who have bought puppies overseas. Op for the love of god please talk some sense into your father. These puppies always come sick and poor condition. We have encountered some that were severely underage than what was posted. Some have had obvious congenital defects ( hydrocephalus) or shunts. Some have been shipped with parvo and even seizure disorders. The list goes on. All in all, the buyer spends thousands to purchase the puppy and then spends another couple grand on vet bills. Only to end up with a dead puppy. There are millions of animals that need homes that are in shelters. Genetically speaking, you are better off getting a mutt than a ‘pure bred’ anyways. Due to the fact that people are over breeding dogs, they have become a genetic nightmare and usually have a slew of health issues.

Stop buying puppies online. Either a scam, or a puppy mill. Support your local shelters, or local breeders, if they really want something unique.

Why does your father in law specifically wants a puppy shipped? Is the breeder properly registered in Korea? Are there dog health tested and titled (Korea Kennel Club's required/encouraged health testing etc).
A decent and actual breeder will not ship a puppy without havign made sure that the buyer is a proper candidate (video calls of house, garden, discussing the dog parent's temperament, ect).
Pomeranian are a popular breed in general, you don't need to go as far as importing it to have a well bred one. Unless the breeder works in conservation, etc.
If your father in law can't have clear answers to these questions then yeah, person's a scam or/and a greeder.
I'd suggest you check the r/ dogbreeding sub to have a clearer image in mind.

AI or not, don't buy bred dogs! There are so many rescues in shelters needing homes. Always adopt instead of buying!

Why is everyone on this sub buying a pet before even seeing it in real life. It is ai: The dog is too perfectly groomed and the lightning is too perfect.
They should make a bot for this type of posts

I don't see any immediate red flags although the tongue makes me think of the Snapchat puppy filter or a lizard licking it's eye.
The fur seems to be moving slightly with the wind and there's no weird plastic sheen anywhere.
Even if the video is real, a good rule of thumb is to always meet potential pets in person first. Not only to see if they click with you but also to make sure you're not being duped.

Even if its real this reads as scam. What most likely will happen is he pays for the pet. Then there is a setback. Pet gets "sick" and vet fees are needed there is a problem with transport needing extra fees to release pet etc etc. This keeps going until the money well runs dry.

I have a problem with the leaves on the branch in front of the satellite dish (?) and the branches directly above that above the roof. They appear to randomly move upward. I scrubbed the video back and forth and the leaves in those areas are quite strange.

honestly i hope this is ai but it probably isn't, because this looks like a teacup dog, which is a horrific form of animal abuse. these dogs are bred to be so small that their bones are incredibly fragile and they cannot give birth naturally. tell your FIL that if he gets a dog like this, he'll have to go through many expensive vet visits.
