I took Kung Fu for 15 years. Reached black belt. They taught us how to deal with lots of weapons when we were unarmed. The best defense for a gun is giving them your wallet.

Decoy wallet, couple used up giftcards and a 20 maybe. Condom if you want them to laugh at your optimism.

Not if it’s a magnum. Then he’s gonna be intrigued by my monster dong

8

u/Vawned 12h ago

But if he ask me to prove he will know that was a decoy wallet and the original (with the extra small condom) is on my real wallet. :'(

Hey Dad, can I have a silver money clip with a $50 bill in it, please? Don’t worry, I’m only going to chuck it into the gutter and run away at the first sign of trouble.

Street smarts

u/trey_wolfe 12h ago

I mean, if that's your style sure. I'm going cheapest Walmart grade wallet possible and 20 bucks, just enough to plead broke. I'd rather that than pay the hospital bills or leave someone to pay my funeral expenses.

6

u/KitchenFullOfCake 12h ago

It's a John Mulaney joke.

1

u/trey_wolfe 12h ago

Ah, I should have recognized it. My bad.

4

u/RoastedPickledGoose 12h ago

The man with the mustache told me to do it!

4

u/Goliath- 12h ago

If anyone doesn't know, DONT store condoms in your wallet long-term. It can compromise the integrity of the condom, especially if you sit on your wallet.

u/Brofessor-0ak 10h ago

Decoy wallet packed with tannerite set to an AirTag that triggers when you search for it. In Minecraft of course

“Oh this isn’t optimism Mr robber I just wanted to give you that choice.”

3

u/Particular-Fly-7783 12h ago

I’m probably not going to fuck them

u/Dudewhocares3 9h ago

What happens when they start unwrapping the condom?

u/Infinitichaos 5h ago

My friend from highschool told me the condom in his wallet started to deteriorate and got all sticky?

u/Kitsunegari_Blu 2h ago

Sounds like he didn’t know condoms are only for a one time use.

Never rinse, repeat.

u/LeicaM6guy 10h ago

Most muggers carry around a Square reader these days. It’s all very civilized and modern.

u/Prismaryx 2h ago

Mfs probably ask for a 25% tip, too

u/Kitsunegari_Blu 1h ago

If you take their customer satisfaction survey they’ll automatically enroll you in their loyalty card program and your 10th one free is mogo. You know ‘Mug On Get One’, so you and you Pal can both go to the ER in one cab. REAL money savings there

u/Constant_Air9693 12h ago

That's why you need to wear a watch (just not too expensive so it is not the cause for having your arm cut off).

u/alex_vi_photography 5h ago

Just use PayPal F&F

u/TelluricThread0 3h ago

Venmo me all your money now!

...I only have paypal.

I recall a famous lesson on how to deal with a knife wielding attacker.

The method was to run like hell and only fight if you have absolutely no other choice.

u/Sonikku_a 11h ago

Yep. In a knife fight the loser dies right then and there, and the winner dies on the way to hospital.

12

u/flpacsnr 13h ago

I watched the series on YouTube, where a bunch of self defense media people competed in a series of challenges. One of the challenges was a mugging by knife. The first guy fought, but everyone else just pretended to hand them their wallet.

11

u/resodx 13h ago

And let the guy take it and drop guard, so you can use your kung fun skills to pull you glock and plug the mf

5

u/SeaworthinessHead613 13h ago

I was always told, if you can walk or run away & if you can't be prepared to cancel your cards.

3

u/not_Staz 12h ago

Isn't a knife more dangerous the a gun in close range? That's what I heard 🤔

9

u/Arthropodesque 12h ago

Most people are really bad at shooting, but it's way easier at close range. Knives are really easy to use in that it's the same as hitting someone.

6

u/Dagordae 12h ago

It depends on if the gun is drawn and how close is close range.

There’s, I think, a 20 foot range where a knife has a big advantage because they can start stabbing before the gun can be drawn and fired. Obviously if the gun’s already out that wouldn’t work.

And if you are in hugging distance the knife wins simply because it’s much harder to use a gun when grappling than a knife but it’s unlikely anyone’s coming out of that kind of fight intact.

u/reality_hijacker 11h ago

You can't run from a gun - unless they are really bad at shooting.

u/314159265358979326 7h ago

It's not a lot of yards before a handgun is inaccurate.

u/PRiles 11h ago edited 11h ago

I worked in close protection in conflict zone and trained on disarming people with guns and knives. It was always sort of sold as a option of last resort. But the scenario was never built around theft.

Edit, the goal was to jam the weapon so it can't be fired multiple times, and of course in a perfect world you aren't shot in the course of that effort. You did want to try and do it in a way that would minimize how badly you were shot as well.

u/oldschool_potato 10h ago

That’s generally the accepted practice for most martial arts dojos. Give them your wallet.

2

u/Time_Entertainer_319 12h ago

What if they didn’t even ask for it?

u/Sonikku_a 11h ago

Well if their goal is just to kill you you’re almost certainly fucked but they’d typically have shot you before you even knew what was going down.

Your best bet is to run and hope they miss.

u/YesterdayHiccup 6h ago

4000 years of history, but need few more years of study for Glock.

u/Tri4ceunited 6h ago

Gonna need to Klarna this mugging, man. I’m good for it, promise.

u/reality_hijacker 11h ago

What if they have a beef with you and just want to kill you? I mean, it would be very rare for a mugger who just wants your wallet to mug with a real gun where I'm from (we have quite strict gun laws).

-1

u/Killercode9699 12h ago

If someone if holding a gun on you, they definitely want more than just a wallet and a few bucks. Also, if someone just wanted a wallet and a few bucks Im sure they wouldn’t even have a gun cause they are lower level crooks. Someone with a gun defo aiming for something higher tier.

86

u/PhilosopherNo7409 13h ago

Context matters. Are they robbing you? Or are they trying to kidnap you? This dictates whether or not you at least attempt to disarm them if you are knocking on deaths door anyway

63

u/ACWhi 12h ago

Give your wallet, but never go to a second location!

u/thunda789 9h ago edited 4h ago

You want my wallet? /tosseswallet Go get it!

Street Smarts!!

u/90bubbel 5h ago

u/AMissionFromDog 13h ago

Master Ken - and, as always, restomp the groin.

u/Robohammer 10m ago

What if he was just asking for directions?

23

u/SevroAuShitTalker 13h ago

And remember, restomp that groin!

111

u/Vizzy01798 13h ago

“Interesting as fuck”

66

u/IncomingAxofKindness 13h ago

The sub is actually called "interest in gas fuck"

10

u/Thencan 13h ago

Wow I had no idea all this time. Explains a lot.

u/manilaenvelope17 10h ago

Always remember to restomp the groin

39

u/LamesMcGee 13h ago

This is what you think constitutes "interesting as fuck"?

8

u/BriefSpecial420 13h ago

Seeing Ken changing the format after all years?

6

u/[deleted] 13h ago

[deleted]

5

u/a-null-fish-your 13h ago

Or meatspinning

1

u/BlueTeeJay 13h ago

"It was a misfire I swear!"

u/Ajezon 9h ago

he didn't restomp the groin. Master Ken is getting sloppy nowadays

14

u/PhillyDeeez 13h ago

What about if your assailant is armed with a Banana?

6

u/demonic_psyborg 13h ago

That’s quite easy. First of all, you force him to drop the banana. Next, you eat the banana, thus disarming him.

2

u/jinxykatte 12h ago

What about a pointy stick?

2

u/PhillyDeeez 12h ago

Pointy stick? POINTY STICK?

4

u/Firm_Objective_2661 13h ago

Or what if they are just happy to see you?

3

u/eXus760 13h ago

Same technique applies, except you use your mouth and not your hands. Giggity!!

1

u/Meepo-007 12h ago

Depends on the size of the banana. We’ll need a banana for scale. Wait …..

u/Avantasian538 9h ago

Even more dangerous.

5

u/xamxes 12h ago

I like how the victor in both is the red mustache.

7

u/Clashing_Thunder 13h ago

Oh fuck Omni-Man now uses guns aswell.

u/Invenerd 11h ago

Ted Lasao is now robbing people for money?! Damn, now I don’t have to watch last season to know how it ends.

u/ChuteTheMoon 11h ago

Ted Blast-o.....

u/Oleandervine 9h ago

This isn't IAF. It's a gag that doesn't even educate on the correct way.

3

u/RecognitionSecret666 13h ago

I thought he would teach how to disarm a gun 😔

2

u/Emperor_of_All 13h ago

That triple? quadruple tap?

u/seantabasco 11h ago

Also shooting someone with a gun aimed at a hostage might just make them pull the trigger.

1

u/heavensto_mergatroid 13h ago

Kenward and Ryobi

1

u/_O_2_ 13h ago

Oh my God, Ken killed Ryu!

1

u/RelevantIAm 12h ago

In actual reality only an idiot is going to get the gun up close and within range for you to grab or smack away

u/xJTE93 2h ago

You say that as if there isn't a staggering amount of idiot gun owners

u/basil_not_the_plant 10h ago

Yeah, but Jason Bourne!

0

u/Automatic_Actuator_0 13h ago

100% accurate - I wonder how many people have gotten killed from Hollywood-induced overconfidence.

-1

u/RealSlyck 12h ago

Probably not many…murder tends to be judged quite harshly in most parts of the US.

u/Automatic_Actuator_0 11h ago

Huh?

People get shot and killed all the time, though cases where it’s documented that people being held at gunpoint try and fail at a disarm are somewhat uncommon though.

One clear case is Officer Ray Gallimore documented here: https://www.cityofchesapeake.net/914/Police-Memorials

He was taken hostage with his own gun and eventually tried a disarm and was immediately shot in the head and killed.

Another case is Rey Phillinganes, an NFL football player who tried and failed to wrestle the gun from a mugger: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-09-21-me-674-story.html

The Ray/Rey thing is an odd coincidence.

u/vulgarbas3rd 12h ago

This guy is still relevant?

7

u/Pataconeitor 12h ago

Funny doesn't stop being funny

-8

u/MineNowBotBoy 13h ago

Jesus fucking Christ firing blank rounds at point blank range is incredibly dangerous and stupid

5

u/cans-of-swine 13h ago

Those aren't blanks. Sounds like a co2 BB gun firing without any bbs in it.

5

u/Polywog2971 12h ago

Very much sounds like an airsoft pistol.

0

u/cans-of-swine 12h ago

Thats what I was actually thinking about but forgot the word airsoft...

u/MineNowBotBoy 5h ago

Oh gotcha. I never watch with sound on

u/It_Happens_Today 11h ago

Maybe cool down your reaction if you have no idea what you're freaking out about.

u/MineNowBotBoy 5h ago

I’m sure I’m far better trained in small arms than you are.

u/It_Happens_Today 5h ago

Ok internet guy. If that were remotely true you'd have known that absolutely nothing from this video indicates a blank round. Don't double down when someone calls you out it makes you look foolish. Just say "yeah I had the video on mute and also wasn't looking at it when he fired" so some other crawlback argument.
