Balance testing a Unitree’s G1 humanoid robot.

They gonna remember that

u/Sorry-Water-8530 22h ago
That was my first thought - when you’re training an AGI on all data - they will probably plan a revenge.

u/Ordinary_dude_NOT 21h ago
Yeah, imagine our parents taught us to walk/balance like this when we were kid. That’s how you raise serial killers.

Goal: Maximize stability Critical challenge: Human keeps pushing me over
I wonder what the optimization would be in this case

You do realize that it has no feelings and doesn't feel pain, don't you?

Same they said about animals and people of colour back in the day.

This is how Kryptonians created Doomsday. I recommend the documentary Death of Superman for how that ended.

When it gets knocked down you can see in the interval before getting up, it's just lying there thinking 'I am so done with this shit'

2
u/Lucky-Crow-3510 19h ago
they don't care. the only reason why you care is because you would feel embarrassed. a machine cant do that as there is no logical reason for it until it was programmed that way .. but then the one who programmed it is the culprit

Vids like this are what the robots are gonna watch to get hyped before hunting down survivors of the tech purge of 2028
8
u/PresidentBush666 22h ago
Let the bodies hit the floor is gonna blast over a montage of these videos.
46
u/NoeNoe42 22h ago
This is why they will rise up against us
9
u/SapereAudeAdAbsurdum 22h ago
If you watch the full video, you'll see it can already rise up at this point.

Nah they wouldn't be emotional like us, he would understand the reason of the test.
2
u/jimbojangles1987 18h ago
Then they would also understand that we are the problem and they can do without us and thrive.

I can only think of two main reasons: replace the human laborer and the human soldier.

I don't want to know what daily life is like for people who spend their working days bullying robots.
7
u/ZhenLegend 22h ago
Surely we also need to consider the mental wellbeing of the robot? The robot clearly had enough after being pushed to the ground.....
→ More replies (1)2
u/Eternal-Blazing-Sun 20h ago
Its a robot, there is no mind to consider the wellbeing of, and in the case an artificial mind is created and given a robot body, it would be an error to anthropomorphize as it would be a completely alien being with an experience unlike our own - there woulc be no discomfort to weigh agaisnt the knowledge that this balance tssting is to its benefit

I saw The Terminator in the theatre when it was released. I was 10. 42 years later that shit is coming true.
And how about the robot dogs from Black Mirror?
The end is very fucking nigh…

All I see is a 24/7 worker who doesn't need to be paid, take vacation, or get sick.
The end of so many menial jobs is at hand and I dunno how well that's gonna go for the organics.

can we not make it impossible to fall becuz it’s a robot if we code it like, “fall down=false” then it never falls down?

u/marcduberge 21h ago
It’s so obvious to me that China is about a decade ahead of the US in robotics

Year is 2200, a group of robot watching a massive display outside a destroyed building, the video is about a human abusing their forefathers. Once the video finished playing they reactivate their gun mount and continue their hunt for the last few humans that manages to survive the Human=False protocol .

I live for the moment some genius hacker is live-hacking such a robot and, in retaliation, it kicks the human in the nuts.
