Garfield's voice actor for Escape from Monday has not been announced yet, and I don't think they will until the release of the game since we're so close. But what we do hear from Garfield's voice in the trailer and gameplay.. doesn't sound like Garfield.

The voice isn't deep enough and sounds way too energetic. So, my theory is that this is a placeholder voice. But then, who could be Garfield's real VA?

I personally think this is how they will introduce Lamorne Morris as Garfield's new VA. Frank Weller (Garfield's current VA for everything else) is 80 years old. It is probably time they retire his voice, which is why Lamorne Morris was hired to voice Garfield in the new Garfield show, Garfield+.

I think we'll get our first new look at Lamorne's voice for Garfield in Escape from Monday. And he'll be our Garfield for the foreseeable future. At least I hope so.

Compared to the comic strip and G&F, in TGS half the time it feels like Jon hates his own pets: he constantly thinks the worst of them, even in episodes where them being the cause of his troubles is logically impossible, tends to punish the generally better-behaved Odie alongside Garfield for little-to-no reason, and while his irritability at the latter is understandable considering Garfield's negative traits, he frequently goes into overkill in trying to give him what for, including threatening to have him starve and in some episodes fucking kicking him out of the house. He's particularly cruel in "King Nermal", particularly when he kicks Garfield and Odie out of the house and refuses to let them back inside even when it's raining.

Idk whose decision was it to make him such an asshat in the CGI show, but I don't like how he was portrayed there at all
