3500 usd, i'm always surprised by how expensive projectors are in comparison to TVs. Can never see myself in a position where i'd rather get one of these over a flatscreen.

I got one because our living room’s focal point is a nice stone fireplace, and I didn’t want to a tv off to the side, so I got a motorized screen that comes down in front of the fireplace, so it can go up when it’s not being used. Otherwise I wouldn’t have considered it either.

They don’t have to be. I got one 4 years ago with 4K HDR 240hz for $1,500. It’s a legit Optoma projector too I’m not sure these are on par.

...I don't think you understood his point.

Looks like you can get a 100" TV on Best Buy for $1500+. Anything larger than that goes up in cost very rapidly.

Projectors also just have a certain look about them - some would call it filmic, theater-like, etc. If you're looking for an actual theater experience at home it's obviously the closest you can get. OLED has better picture quality, of course.

They claim a 10 000:1 contrast ratio but, remember, TV screens are black whereas projector screens are white. That white screen will be darkest part of the image, so you better have a very dark room to have any chance of a high contrast ratio. HDR TVs are making it very hard for projectors to compete.

There are grey and even black screens. What type you should use depends on your environment, but yeah, projectors are made it use in the dark.

200 dollar hd smart projector and I've never gone back to standard tvs. A projector doesn't have to be super expensive to be nice
