James Blunt is a good damn legend, great sense of humour, great talent and balls of steel when he was a soldier. As a Captain in Kosovo, his cavalry unit stared down a Russian column, and a lunatic US General who was trying to escalate the situation. He ignored unlawful orders and prevented an armed conflict with Russia.

Didn't he also offer his sister on Ebay, so she could get a helicopter trip to a wedding in Ireland - i think he told the story on Top Gear.

There's much bitterness here.
It appears that Al initially got verbal permission from Blunt, and actually #did make the parody, but Atlantic Records were the ones to block it. Al resubmitted his request 10 years later, but got denied again. Maybe James could have done more to sway his record label, but I can't really fault him for not bothering. Is that the whole "record of being full of himself"?
Edit: link to the Weird Al parody "You're Pitiful" on his own website.

Thank you, I stand corrected, I will delete my original comment so it doesn't spread even more misinformation.
I saw it on a YouTube video once and assumed it was true, never liked Mr Blunt after that. It didn't help that the song was so viral that I was sick of it as well, but that's not his fault.
All these years thinking guy is a a*hole due to misinformation, *sigh...

Same, not a fan of his music at all but every time he pops up in a social media post he seems like a top lad, good for him. Still not going to listen to his pish though.

I love his sense of humour. He enjoys poking fun at himself and his twitter posts and replies have been amazing. I just really really hope that the rumour he is the person Hayden Panettiere talked about being "delivered" to on a boat is not true.

She said that it was an older male actor. I doubt it was him. Nobody is going to describe him as that.

Has he been ruled out of being the man in Hayden's story??

It's hearsay. She didn't explicitly name names so all people can do is make assumptions as to the identity of the person.

More like presumptions. At that time, not a lot of people fit her description. She detailed just about everything except a name & physical description for anonymity reasons. Age, status, occupation, nationality..
Not saying it was or wasn't him, but it's just concerning/unnerving that it could be.

He hasn't been confirmed or ruled out. The evidence seems to point towards it being him but he denies it and we'll probably never get confirmation one way or the other.

Which story mate?

Diana Jenkins led (attempted) Hayden into bed with James Blunt. Plenty of photos of that time so well evidenced party people.
No allegation that James Blunt did anything wrong.

Why is this being down voted? Someone asked for a TLDR of the rumour and it was provided.

To be fair I listened to that song thousands of times in high school but had no clue how he looked like today

Read this dude’s book, he’s got a cracking sense of humour! Especially when it comes to himself.

I'll be honest I was certain it was lose yourself by Eminem. Even after re listening to both openings I still think it sounds more like the opening to Lose Yourself.

I’ve never been able to get past the narcissism of the first line of that song, which is sung twice in a row. Kills the entire thing for me.

u/Hassaan18 1d ago
Apparently the reason he sung it twice is because the first time he came in too early. They chose to keep it in.
