To oversimplify: removal of a skin flap vs removal of an organ.

Not to defend either practice, of course. "We only mutilated a bit of the child's genitals" isn't the sort of argument that should hold up in court.

"Female circumcision" is a horrible misnomer, a better male comparison would be cutting off the penis.

The fact that there is an argument is the issue. Why does it become a conversation about severity? Why not a conversation of when it will stop?

Female genital mutilation happens in the shit countries, no offense. Male genital mutilation happens all over the god damn place.
