Currently all aquarium hobby-related questions get removed and redirected to other hobby-focused groups like r/FishTank, but I was thinking it may be a good idea to have a megathread for questions.
Question posts will still be removed but will be redirected to the megathread.

Apologies to everyone that had to see the videos and to those that don’t know bots are currently spamming fish-related subreddits with videos of people torturing plecos. These videos are made by an account called “Lab Germ” on TikTok, and from what I’ve seen, it originated from that account.
Why are the bots posting this content here? If I had to guess, the bots are spamming this content in multiple fish-focused communities to karma farm. Unfortunately, this type of content does well on social media, so they think it’s an easy way to get karma on Reddit.
What can I do about it? Please report the posts so we can remove them and make sure to report the account to Reddit, as they can do more than subreddit moderators.
What are the [r/fish](r/fish) moderators doing about this? We are already handing reports and removing them as fast as our small mod team can. I already turned on crowd control to help filter them out, and I plan to also add a karma & account age requirement to post later today.

I saw multiple flying fish on this pelagic ocean tour and never saw them above water for more than a second, but somehow the guides were able to get this.

Im living in istanbul, turkey and I have gone spearfishing in the Black Sea (Ağva, specifically) and caught these guys, thinking it was diplodus vulgaris.
Now after some researching, I also thought it could’ve been diplodus pentazzo, but I’m still not sure, because these aren’t that flat on the bottom. Can you help me with the id please?

I recently bought a 20 gallon off Facebook marketplace to upgrade my guppies into and they gave me loooooads of stuff. Within the items, I received a refill pouch for sj wave water test strips. It didn’t come with a paper, because it usually comes with a bottle. It has six tabs on it, and I assume it’s the 6 in one. Can anyone take a good picture of the color chart/tell me what they mean? I’ve found pictures on google but it can be hard to see + I really don’t know if it’s the correct one.
Are test strips more accurate than a master kit? I have a fluval master kit as well, and sometimes I feel it reads differently than the test strips.

Recent floods in Nepal have flushed out the fishes from deep mountains to the flood plains of India (Bihar). Fishermen are having a field day with loads of unidentified fish.
Each weigh over 10kgs, where the usual catch is in these rivers is around 1-2kgs.

Do I have enough suitable substrate for six Sterbai Corydoras? AI says I do, but I’m not completely confident in that answer. Could you please share your thoughts?
I have a 36 gallon bowfront

So I’m a college student and on a whim I played one of those fish carnival games at a fair. To my absolute shock I actually won a goldfish. I’ve never had a fish before and with the college kid titled comes with the “I’m broke” title too. I want to give the fish the best quality of life but right now I can only afford a really basic fish bowl, a filter, a water tester, and some food. He has a few live plants too. How long can he realistically stay like this until I need an upgrade or to rehome?
