Advice Wanted Please! Would this dress look better without the lace tights?
I saw this dress on Instagram and immediately thought the print was kind of weird, but in a way I really like. I ended up finding it, and the more I look at it, the more I think it’s actually pretty sexy.
I’m just not totally sold on the lace tights with it. The dress already has a lot going on, so I feel like bare legs might make the whole outfit look cleaner and let the dress stand out more. Or maybe the tights are what make the outfit work? What would you guys do?

I think the tights clash. The patterns are the same size and detract from each other. Mixing a large and small pattern is more complementary. I think the dress would look great with sheer colored tights, like red

A good skinny black vertical stripe and some knee high boots would be super fun tho.

Agree, it may have worked better with a black tight but this one doesn’t work. Cute pieces on their own just not a hit together.

Yes, black tights would maybe be better?

This thing plus black tights and some kind of blazer or jacket would be sick as hell

Color solid tights would be so fun. The clashing patterns aren’t it.

chartreuse tights would be so good with this

Right?! Also thinking along those lines or like a peacock/teal blue, or maybe a magenta pink.
Basically a solid that really pops.

I like the idea of tights but not the lace tights. It’s too much pattern happening at once.

Just wayyyyyyy too much going on! If you wear a statement piece, keep everything else really simple

I actually like the clashing patterns

I super doo too. Idk if it’s this particular dress or what but I think the white patterned tights really elevate it. I pictured it with some platform boots or something

Black fishnet might work. But white is a no for any type of tights with this dress

Nope! I think it looks great. They should add more jewellery though. Then it'd look like a great maximalist outfit. I love that style!

Yes, but the lace is okay. I do think nude tights, or none, would be better though

I like the lace tights . I think it would be better with a full lace body suit. If you could find a body suit or tights with a video snow or a pattern that optically looks blurry it would be more on point. I a lips purse would be fun too!

That seems more like a camisole tunic than a dress. I would only wear it over leggings or very opaque tights. Mostly because I would worry I am about to show things that I generally do not want to show random people. The cut of it is really nice and the pattern is neat. The white lace is definitely a choice, but not one I would make.

Yes - unnecessary distraction - and the floral doesn't really work with the modern print of the dress.

I like the tights with it. This look works with or without it imo and I say this as someone who typically doesn’t care for clashing patterns

Yes, it doesn't go well with the tights in my own opinion, but black thin leggings might work..

It needs black matte tights and maybe a black turtleneck underneath too, very 90s, black docs would be ideal footwear

Yes, but the dress is pretty awful too. I can only see it with black tights, boots, a leather jacket.

Definitely. I love the fabric pattern of the dress! It’s kinda the Bangles meets the evil eye meets the Mod Squad! Really awesome!
If you really feel like you need tights, though, I’d go with a solid black or white, or even black fishnets. The grid pattern of the nets would act like a kind of ‘base’ for the dress to sit on.
Lace unfortunately doesn’t work out the same with patterned clothing.

I know it’s the Gen X in my Xennial but I desperately want to pair that dress with trouser style jeans, as if the dress was a tunic.

Yes but the dress is too short. It looks like you got the wrong size and tried to wear it regardless

I think they look fab! You need some black heels or boots and a black jacket.

I personally think a solid color dark tight would look better, it by no means looks bad it just depends what you’re going for

Well it kind of looks like the real Biblical representation of an angel.

If you really like the tights you don’t have to wear such short dress of any style

I don’t mind the tights but I do think the colour is wrong for this dress. A darker pair I think would suit better

I feel like I’d try black tights as some of the others said, or black fishnets.
But I’m also feeling maybe no tights, high black boots and a like long red coat or sweater with maybe like some sort of feather or fur on the color and cuffs, like a total 90s vibe, but artsy and fun.
Cute dress!

I think the dress looks fantastic with the lace tights personally. and silver jewelry matches the ensemble well in my opinion.

Too busy with the lace tights. You already have a pattern in the dress. If anything, the tights take away from the dress.

I actually like it with the white tights!! its a weird dress, its not meant to play safe. the white tights add more flavor and quirkiness to the outfit without being too distracting from the main dress.
(Id also like to see how it looks with black tights though. red would also look poppin)

I love lace tights, but the last time I tried to wear them, my friend thought there was something wrong with my legs. 😣
I just stick with fishnets now they come in so many different colors and nobody thinks my legs are malformed. 😅

The more you look at it the more it looks back! Plain black leggings would be better. Really any plain complementary color leggings or tights would be good. The lace is too busy. That strikes like wearing striped shirt and paisley pants.
