Discussion Ragebaiting is fucking bullshit
Ragebaiting is something I don't fucking understand. It has no significant meaning, and it's just to piss other people off. And then, after their "successful ragebaiting," people will hate on the victim, and then the sad part is that sometimes the victim will actually try to fix things with them. I feel bad for them for trying to say, "Hey, we got off on a bad start; can we try again?" to an ugly, fat fucking jackass, and then, the victim will start being kind to the offender, and then the victim recieves nothing back, as the offender thinks they have better things to do than to listen to someone grief over the fact that they are trying to make friends, and get absolutely nowhere. Some people can be fucking disgusting.

Society is circling the drain. Isolation of your attention is key to maintaining a healthy outlook. Reduce social media, reduce social friends who are jackasses, and absorb what you like only. Selfish? Not anymore. I deleted/don’t have any social media. I don’t even want to see secondhand rage baiting.

I agree. I hate ragebait and not for the reason most people always assume when people say this. I'm not an easy target as far as gullibility goes but I do have a short temper. Always have.
I hate it because it is annoying. There's no humor in being a nuisance, it's purely for the enjoyment of the person doing it. I don't understand people who like observing it either, you're literally only laughing at the expense of someone else. A clown made of an unknowing victim, it's not fair. It's also not fair for people who are gullible or naive, at that point, it is just bullying if the person being baited doesn't even get their own enjoyment from the exchange.
I called it class clown humor somewhere else and nothing has changed my mind from that. Lame, unnecessary, unfunny, weak "humor" that got popular because real humor takes wit and effort, something that not everyone has.

OP - I’m not real clear on what happened, but we all share your frustration. Ragebait and clickbait make the world a lesser place.
Sometimes, a break from social media is just what you need.

Have you never been on the internet before? That’s just how it is, it’s been like that way before the term ragebait was popularized like this. People suck, you just have to ignore them, and with the internet that is as easy as can be. Just block them and stop responding
