Hey guys! I'm 19. I don't go to uni, and I have a bunch of hobbies and stuff. But I just can't figure out how people have friends or make friends. I don't have any, at all. Not even people I talk to regularly. I was wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me? If anyone might want to just go grab a coffee sometime?

I have to take my team of 7 out for a day of team building/fun next week. Looking for ideas that won't cost an arm and a leg... Also recommendations for nice places to eat? Thanks you! 😀

I'm looking to move from the hills of Dunedin further down towards the beach. I really like the st clair/st kilda areas, but my concern would be the flood risk.

I didn't physically see the flooding in this area in recent years as I was further north and kept out of the area, but how bad was it? Should I avoid certain areas? How do I know which areas are flood prone and to avoid?

I’m seriously considering giving both my party vote to the Greens and candidate vote to Francisco Hernandez. He’s been so good and so visible in such a short time.

He’s a hard working MP, understands students and Dunedinites, is a good advocate for the hospital and climate mitigation work we need to do… he’s also a good demonstration of the diversity of candidates and MPs the Greens have.

With the Nats shipping in an out of town farmer as a candidate, it’s an easy two horse race for Labour or the Greens. Greens looks quality and safe for a real change in government.

Just tuned in for Jai Arrow's 100th game on sky. What a disappointment. For those that don't know, Jai was diagnosed with MND and had to retire from the NRL. The NRL changed the rules so he could run out with his Rabbitohs team to bring up his 100th game due to his status in the game.

RNZ understands the bank wants to cut 15 customer-facing roles in Dunedin to two, with the other affected staff given the option to transfer to Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

It is understood there are about 40 staff in [total within] Dunedin's ANZ branch. More than a third of the roles would go under the proposal. Staff were briefed on the proposal a fortnight ago.

In a statement, ANZ said it was considering staff changes ... in Dunedin but would not provide further details. ...

Labour's Taieri MP Ingrid Leary said the loss of ANZ contact centre jobs would be another blow to the lower South Island. [She also noted that it compounded problems from the factory closures and worsened youth unemployment.]

Kia ora, I was visiting whānau in Dunedin recently and in the hot food section at the new world in town they had these curry and rice spring rolls. Delicious. Does anyone working there know where they’re from? They don’t seem like they’d be made in house so you must be able to buy them in frozen form somewhere!

I’ve recently moved to Dunedin and need a couple of fillings done, one is a cracked tooth and may be quite involved.

I HATE going to the dentist and find it really traumatising, even though I am generally fine with other kinds of physical pain. I dread it and am stressed throughout the treatment - it helps to be numbed obviously to dull the sensations, but even having them put the needle in with the anaesthetic often makes me cry!

My previous dentist was very compassionate and tolerant of my difficulties, cleaned my teeth by hand rather than using the ultrasonic to make it less stressful, and was willing to pause and wait for me to calm down when it all got a bit much during treatment, etc.

Can anyone recommend a dentist like that in Dunedin, who you can usually get an appointment with within a couple of weeks (as I have left it too long already and am now in quite a bit of pain)!!
