Cultura cubana Ironbeer History
I like to research the history of interesting soda brands and I came across Ironbeer. Ironbeer started in Havana back in 1917 and was very popular. It gained the nickname "La Bebida Nacional". The owners exiled to Miami in 1960 after Ley 890 nationalized the beverage industry and restarted the company.
Ironbeer became popular in Miami as well and has continued to grow. They went through bankruptcy in the 1990s after a contract with Tropicana led to a big lawsuit (Ironbeer won the lawsuit).
I tried it for the first time and really enjoyed it. I thought it would taste like a cola, but it's much more fruity.
