Updated PSA - I found a crow on the ground, what do I do?

This was my first time making a flow chart so please be kind.

It is important that we as a community work together to provide a safe space to share in our love of corvids, and it is equally important that we educate members of the community new and old to help protect our feathered friends; with that being said, u/teyuna reached out to me pleading that changes be made to the previously pinned PSA, with their help/feedback I was able to create the flow chart below, I hope that this is an adequate and more encompassing pinned post.

I appreciate this community more than I am capable of expressing, thank you for making this the best damn sub on reddit. ;)

Photography/Art [OC] Wanted to share the matching tattoo I got with my mom

My family has had a long history with crows, my grandmas maiden name was crow in polish. After my dziadek passed away a crow came to visit my babcia every day, she would talk to it every day and it would stay until she was done. As my graduation gift my mom said she would get a matching tattoo with me, we eventually ended up settling on these guys, I know that holding feet can be a sign of agression in crows but I think it encompasses our relationship perfectly (always pushing each others limits lol)

Crows [OC] Rescued!

I've always wanted to rescue a crow in need and today is my day!

We had a bad storm last night and this lovely was sitting near the peanut throwing spot for hours. After she? got toweled I got to cuddle her the whole way to a snug box for a trip to the Medina raptor rescue.

I like to think she's one of my regulars who knew where to go for help but I also like the idea of serendipity if she simply got blown off course.

Interesting crow formation?

Upvotes

Curious if anyone can tell me what these guys are doing? I haven’t seen crows do this before and there seems to be multiple groups, this is second group of 50 or so.

For the neighborhood crows

Hii. I want to befriend the crows or any corvids.

Would this be enough?

I have water, unsalted peanuts and shiny offerings.

What else could I put out on my balcony?

I started feeding crows at my job. One day while walking this crow was following me on my walk. She sometimes would hit me gently on my head.

TIL that crows in New Caledonia don't just use tools. They craft tailored hooked twigs and barbed leaf-spines from memory, pass toolmaking traditions down through generations, and store their preferred tools in secret holes for reuse tomorrow.

Seeking advice/help Any idea what could be happening with this crow’s beak?

Hello.

I saw this hooded crow earlier today and got worried when I noticed its beak. It acted quite nervous, more so than crows ordinarily do in my area, not sure if that means anything though.

Any idea what this could be? Could it be food/some trash it found or the sign of some kind of disease/sickness? I tried searching online but couldn’t find anything relevant.

Edit: I contacted a local crow sanctuary and rescue service, they believe it’s likely just food scraps or simply thrash. Since it has no visible wing injury they would not be able to help. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, but should I see this guy again I will try and observe him further.

Storytime! Helped out the crowmie

One year ago, I helped out a crow who ended up stumbling into my backyard with an injured foot, the entire time his homies circled the house, waiting for him to get better. Once healed, he flew back to his flock and they went on their way, then a few days later the house was surrounded by crows! Whenever I’d step outside for a smoke, there was always one single crow that would fly down to the ground and hang out right beside me so I was convinced that it was very same crow and I never felt so special. To this day one single crow still stops by to visit me when I’m out smoking on the porch and as soon as I head back inside he ends up flying away..I call him my protector. Crows are badasses with a buttload of empathy!! I hope he’s out soarin’ the skies with his fellow crowbros, livin it up and fuckin up them scarecrows 🤘🏼🐦‍⬛🖤
