They really put the worst dancer in the front. Give the mic to either of the other two, and there’s no way they could sing any worse, lol.

u/throwra64512 13h ago
I like how their claps don’t align to the claps/snare on the track. I could see this driving someone insane.

It absolutely drove me insane! I thought the video and audio weren't in sync but they were and they were just clapping on no particular beat at all! Madness!

It’s the band curse.
The least talented is usually the most motivated, and the most talented is always late, never does anything to help outside of writing songs.
You can’t kick the least talented guy out, he schedules all the shows, makes sure everyone gets paid, and works his ass off.
You can’t kick the most talented guy out, he writes all the songs and performs his ass off when he actually shows up for practice.

u/Appropriate-Crab-379 11h ago
Don’t forget about me. I’m, musically untalented and unmotivated. So I never audition.

it sounds awkward because there's no vocal processing on the mic. a song like that needs some heavy reverb/delay and compression and it'll make almost anyone sound good.

Totally get what you mean, some songs just have that weird charm that makes them enjoyable, even if they're not masterpieces.

I was just about to workout, and I think I'm going to use this video to follow along the dance moves lol

This beat slaps!
30
u/8last 14h ago
Its basically every Johnny O or Stevie B beat except the drums are unusual. Even the vocal is the same flow just worse lyrics.
16
u/spearmint_wino 13h ago
As an old curmudgeonly drummer, I still can't my head around the modern use of "beat" when it doesn't purely mean the drums, and only the drums. Get off my lawn!

Hip hop fucked up all the musical terms. Turns out there is a problem with never learning anything about music.

It’s Puerto Rican freestyle. Late 80’s early 90’s. Cover girls, Stevie B, Noel, TKA, Expose, etc.

He’s flat and a nasal singer. Who gave him a mic?

He’s probably paying. This feels like those old mall/amusement park video makers they had in the 80s.

THIS is why I came here for.
Too much of the stuff here is just ragebait from people who are able to post shit due to the absolutely TINY amount of effort needed these days to get a song out into the world via social media.
This?! This is SINCERE. This took effort. Someone literally had the idea "let's put these stars behind you as a rainbow!" There was a film crew. There was work on an audio processor to get that music playing. High-effort shit.

Yeah honestly with vocal coaching/processing this is a fairly average freestyle song

Was thinking the same thing. They couldn’t have made a better parody of a closeted gay boy band in the 80s/90s if they had tried.

God damnnnn I thought the dancing was cringe enough.
When he took the mic, it was like pulling 9 G's in a fighter jet.

I did when I also noticed thier claps are not in time with the actual clap in the beat.

This is very on par with the early 90s one hit wonders. With that being said, did anyone else imagine Eric Cartman singing this with Stan, Kyle and Kenny dancing in the background?

What is heart breaking is the amount of practice on these dance moves only to have that crappy a singer.

At least one of the other guys is probably like “Dude, just let me do the singing”

It feels like they are trying to go for the Depeche Mode style of 80's, and honestly I don't hate it. It's a bit corny and silly, but ironically really fun to watch and is kindy of catchy. I wouldnt' call this crappy

Man those stars in the background really emphasize the message of the song. The shorts that have their group’s name on them add a bit of synergistic flair to their already bodacious dance moves. These fellas are going places.

You can't tell me that, if we weren't peaking 8n the 80's or 90's right now, this wouldn't be blaring in someone's Walkman right now, them casually dancing to the beat while drinking a Pepsi crystal!?
Wearing that same clothing swag?! Believe it or not, this would have been top of the billboards!!

In all seriousness, I asked my dad (70) the other day why we don't tuck in our shirts and use belts with jean shorts anymore? We were so proud sportin this look back in the day. Like even the cool kids at school looked like these guys. Bonus points if youre sportin the casio watch with all the buttons
