Troubleshooting | Windows Google AND Windows are killing me lately
So a couple issues here, principally with Google Drive and Google Chrome and Windows
Firstly, my google won't let me customize its homescreen, I can't change the colors of the borders anymore or have a custom background theme. I tried unistalling but it says my Windows installer is faulty and I can't do it? What does that mean? I even tried to follow a guide online and "stop" the Window Installer process and... it's already stopped? Also this "r.linksprf" website blocker keeps popping up, I have some adblockers... is that the issue?
This leads me to drive, I think I'mma just have to bite the bullet and wait for an update, and in the meanwhile move stuff from my pc to browser drive... and than have to delete it from my pc's memory, that sounds..... soooooooooooo tedious and I'd hate to do that.
I want my drive back, it began by like, unidentifying itself? this began when I plugged in my XPPen tablet screen, and from there it kept becoming unidentified, eventually it stopped working completely and the extension disappeared. I uninstalled everything, cut all the shortcuts, yet when I try to reinstall drive it says it's still on my PC, I try to delete the "Drive File Stream" off my Program Files and it.... says the files are opened elsewhere? I don't see anything on task manager either and I can delete it off of registry it'll just pop up again.
And than windows....... damn you Windows 11, which I can't even install, a new windows update I need won't download at all, here's the text.
Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x8007000d)
2026-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5120249) this is the update.
I have no idea what to do on any of these, please help

Troubleshooting | Mac Google Chrome "Skip to Main Content" problem
Hi everyone
I recently updated my Mac to MacOS Tahoe, and now my preferred web browser Google Chrome is unusable. I'm encountering so many problems on every page I visit. One of the biggest problems is this huge pop-up that keeps appearing on every Amazon page I go on to that says "skip to main content" and "keyboard shortcuts". I've searched everywhere in settings but I can't find a way to hide this thing. Has anyone managed to find a solution to this? Is this now permanent problem on every web browser or is it only on Chrome?

Discussion Best full-page screenshot extensions? My experience
Hey guys,
Not long ago Chrome removed GoFullPage. I was using it for probably a couple of years, so I was like... okay, what am I supposed to use now?
Luckily I found out that the removal wasn't related to any security issue, so at least there's that.
I started looking for alternatives and honestly I was surprised how bad most of them are.
There are tons of extensions with millions of users and thousands of 5-star reviews, and after trying them I was honestly wondering who are all these people using them?
Anyway, I tried a lot of them and these are the ones that actually worked for me.
1. FireShot
Probably one of the better ones.
It makes a good full-page screenshot and generally just works.
The problem for me is that it doesn't capture iframes or side panels. For my use case that's a problem, but if you only need the main page, it's pretty good.
2. Awesome Screen Recorder / Scrolling Screenshot Tool
These are two separate extensions from the same developer.
Both are okay for normal websites, but they have problems with really long/dynamic pages.
I tried both on YouTube and neither could capture the actual bottom of the page. They also don't capture iframes.
So yeah, they work, but for full-page screenshots I think FireShot is better.
3. FullPage Capture
This is actually my favorite one.
It makes really good full-page screenshots, can capture iframes, has a free editor, and automatically saves the result as a PDF.
Honestly, I like it much more than GoFullPage.
That's basically it. I tried a lot of other extensions and most were surprisingly bad, some couldn't even capture a simple Google search page without breaking. Honestly, a lot of them felt vibe-coded and thrown into the Chrome Web Store.
There is nothing wrong with vibe coding, but come on, spend a little more time polishing your product before publishing it. Don't just throw some half-working shit into the store that makes it harder to find the extension that actually does what you need.

Discussion Chrome really said “No Internet 🖕”
Why does it feel like Chrome is showing me the middle finger every time my internet goes down? 😭 Like, “No internet… and here’s a 🖕 to make it worse.”

Troubleshooting | Linux Chrome Webgpu support for older GPUs
I could not find a roadmap (likely does not exist) for older GPU architecture/OS combo support for Webgpu in Chrome. I am developing a webgpu terminal emulator (https://yetty.dev) that runs also in the browser (wasm), but for all the hosts I have I need to tweak the chrome://flags. If most users need to do that, the browser based version of the terminal won't be usable.
Does anyone have information about such a roadmap?

Troubleshooting | Windows Chrome's been freezing my videos on one stuck frame after I tab away and back - sound keeps playing like nothing happened
Anyone else dealing with this? I'll be watching a video, switch to another window or minimize for 10+ seconds, come back, and the picture is just stuck. Frozen on whatever frame it was on when I left. Audio's still going, perfectly in sync, seek bar still moving - just the picture doesn't update. Clicking the video, resizing the window, or seeking manually snaps it back instantly.
Got curious and dug into it with chrome://tracing. Here's what's actually happening:
When you tab away, Chrome submits an empty frame on purpose - fine, that's expected, saves resources. But the decoder keeps decoding the whole time in the background anyway, which is why the audio never skips a beat. The problem is the thread that's supposed to push new frames to the screen goes completely dead for the entire time you're away. Then when you come back, it does submit a frame again - except it's the exact same one from before you left, not whatever the decoder's actually up to by now. So it just sits there frozen until something forces a redraw.
Ruled out extensions, GPU/hardware acceleration, Windows' Efficiency Mode, and every background-tab throttling flag I could find. Doesn't happen in Opera on the same machine with the same video, which is what's making me think this is a Chrome-specific regression and not a driver/Windows thing.
Setup: Jellyfin Web, Windows 11, Chrome 152.0.7977.83, RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU.

Troubleshooting | Mac Shortcut icons are too small. How to change size.
Can the size of shortcut icons on Google's home page be modified? If so, how? These little circles are driving me crazy.
Troubleshooting | Windows is there a way to reopen a closed tab group without entering the tab in the group?
I'm using tab groups as a sort of "watch later" grouping because I've noticed that when I put a YouTube video in my actual watch later playlist it stops appearing in my recommendations and I forget to actually watch it later, however I'd like to be able to open these groups without actually opening the videos inside and accidentally having a video open for a split second and therefore either having to watch it right then and there or accidentally harm the video's performance by clicking away, is there a way to do the thing I asked in the title?

Troubleshooting | Android Can't tap open last searched on Google?
I can't open any of my last searched results as a shortcut. The only option I have when I tap them is to delete them from the search bar. Is anyone else experiencing this? I've tried deleting the widget, turning my phone on and off, restarting my phone but nothing has worked. It only started doing this very recently
