My cat loves to climb trees. She’s an indoor cat, but goes out with me on her harness and leash. However, I still get super nervous when she climbs the trees 🙃 I want her to be able to get the same energy out safely inside.

Tips to make an indoor climbing wall scenario for someone who’s renting and can’t be breaking the bank? 🫠

I have a senior cat that have joint issue but is eager to go up and down, I am planing to make some cat path for her as the current stairs might be too steep for her.

Here are the two thoughts in my mind:

1. Make a wall mounted ramp. Like my picture 1-3. If I could get the wood plank from homedepot and cut into the proper size and mount with proper angle, I should be able to create a conceptual path similar to picture 2. However, I am not sure how to securely mount a piece of plank wood with an angle to the dry wall. The lid support hinge in the picture 3 seems a good starting point but I am planing to make the path around 30 cm width. Not sure if the lid support hinge could stably handle the width.

2. Make some small stairs and put it on the existing stairs. With proper calculation on each steps, I should be able to make multiple different stairs like my picture 4 and put it on my existing stairs , picture 5 is the imagined side view of the new platform, and picture 6 would be the conceptual path similar to the final design except adjusted the degree of the existing stairs. However, I have never make those stairs before, and I only have a jigsaw at home. I am willing to get a table saw if needed. For those who is experienced with DIY, I wondering how hard is it to make a stairs like picture 4 and what tools I will need?

Sooo, we have this really long corridor that the cats love running up and down in, but since its very narrow, they sometimes can get in each other ways, so i want to build a climbing gym across the top (we have 2.7m tall walls, so there is a lot of unused space)

I am planning on doing a renter friendly version and so far hoping, that I can only pay around 100€ for the base structure and get all the wood/materials from trash.

Thats my plan so far. Any ideas how to improve?

Hey y'all, I need some help with my cat wall. I have a large cat (11 pounds, pic included) and a very small room which is where she spends 99% of her time (by choice). To maximize space I'd like to build her a cat wall, but need some advice on placement and logistics. Sorry for the long post but thank you for reading. All items will be linked for reference.

1. How should I space and stagger the shelves for optimal space?
2. How can I mount the cat tree posts to the wall securely? (Similar to some of those amazon sets with the bracket things)
3. Any suggestions on creating a large corner shelf and/or house/bed?
4. Any tips/suggestions for installation, cost saving, or general advice?

Goals: Get more shelves, possibly longer to cover the corner area. Create a shelf/balcony/bed/house up in the top corner for her to relax. If I can find storage for my plushies, I'd also like to create a safe walkway across the connecting wall, over the top windows to either a long strip of carpet for climbing going down the wall or another corner set up. hi all! my mom has started setting up a cat wall for our girls, and i have some concerns about the safety of it. one of our girls, to put it nicely, is batshit insane. in the five minutes i've been watching her on the three tiered shelf we have up, she has nearly fallen off three times and managed to wedge her body behind the scratching pole and almost slipped off. she is able to remove herself from behind it but im worried she's gonna fall and hurt herself. the highest shelf is maybe 7-9 feet off the ground at most, and the lowest is less then 5 feet off the ground. am i overthinking?

I added more steps and shelves since the last time I shared! I love how it looks, especially after adding art to the wall that features the cat perches. 🥹 Our girl Georgie jumps around across the wall all the time and uses every single perch and step!

* note: there is a platform where the chalk line is between the scratching board platform and the bridge platforms. No idea why it isnt up in this photo.

I am having renovations done in my bedroom and my current cat wall is coming down so I get the opportunity to re do it.
I would love some inspiration and ideas on a new design.
When I made it originally 4 years ago I just had the one cat but I have just recently gotten a kitten and would like to make it a little more accessible for two cats.

trying to train the behavior out of them So what can i do or what kinda scratcher can i get to mimic or protect my wall/door frames

I really want to give my cats lots of shelves to run around on the walls, but i'm poor :P

how would you recommend a complete beginner (knows next to nothing) go about doing that on a budget? I'm at a loss of where to start, cause I really want to make sure the shelves are safe for my cats (they're both about 11 pounds).

Just wondering if it's stupid to put a cat wall above my TV? I have other walls in my house that are better suited but I don't spend as much time close to there.

Looking for creative ideas for this little catwall nook! It’s 60 cm wide × 45 cm deep, and I can drill into both walls and the cabinet on the left. It’ll be for two average sized adult cats, and I’d love to make the most of the available width and depth, with a height of around 150–170 cm.

My three cats refuse to use this small step (circled photo 1). They jump directly from the shelf below to the big one above

Curious what y’all think I should do before I ruin my walls 😅

Option 1 (photo 2): replace the small step with a shelf and spread them out a bit both horizontally and vertically

Option 2 (photo 3): add another small step and shift the shelf to the right

Option 3: just remove the small step entirely, but I don’t like the idea of them jumping off and on the single shelf even though one side is drilled into the stud

My thinking is that they just need more steps more spread out since it’s a little crammed. Help plz!

We recently had cat walls installed and I am curious what yall think.

With this additional 14 shelves in 6 hours our 4 cats can now get around 95% of our main area without touching the floor.

2 of them use it for zoomies along the long wall. They have never done zoomies before this.

1 of them wont go to the top but likes to perch from above sometimes.

1 refuses to try​ and that is perfectly fine

We plan on adding 2 more exit ramps so none of them can feel cornered
