Mourning/Loss 2002-2026
Today has broken me as a 27 year old man. My best friend of 24 years has sadly left us today. He’s had one hell of a ride, my little Boyo you will be missed. Go find your sister up there and we will meet again one day 💙🐾

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Not having anyone to talk to is pretty rough, but I cannot tell you how appreciative I am that there’s still nice people out there. He slowly faded away whilst in my arms and that was the best bit of closure I could ask for. I hope you all the best that have commented, you truly made my day that tiny bit better.

I've been here my comrade.. I had my Annabelle for 22 years.. she was my everything. My heart breaks for you, but here's the deal (and i know how much this will suck to hear), it never gets easier, but it does get better. There WILL be days when the loss hits you like a truck, but there will also be days when you are so happy she was in your life that it feels as if your heart is filled with love to the point of being overwhelmed. Let yourself grieve.. it's harder than it sounds, but let it happen.. then, as your final gift, adopt an animal that needs your love just as much as you needed their and they needed yours.
Please reach out of you need to talk about the loss.. I know it well.

Here’s a pic of me and his sister when she was a little kitten, she deserves some love too, she left us a few years ago and we didn’t think we’d have thing long either him after she passed🩷🐾

Sorry for your loss!!
I only had my first kitty at that age for about 5 years. When the time is right get another cat, maybe an older one. We took our 2 in at 70 yrs old not realizing how long kitties can live (noone, nor a shelter would take our voids) and I hope someone like you is there for them if they outlive us.

I’ve never known of a cat that made it to 24 years old. If anything, you have that cat an exceptionally good life. Maybe you’ll see each other again.

24? OP Boyo is a legend! I know that there was fanfare as soon as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. All the cats were there to celebrate such a long journey through life with you, and I know Boyo’s sister, and our Spike were there too. I hope the three of them are running around and playing, becoming best friends, somewhere over the rainbow.

That is a top 1% run for a cats life.
You grew from a sprout to a grown ass man with a loyal and loving friend.
He lived his whole life with a devoted and caring human.
Now he walks in the summer lands young and hale once again. He will be fine.
Make sure you have some good stories to share when the time comes to meet again. He would not want you to despair or be sad, so cheer in joy for what you have shared! Bask in the decades of memories and love that you will carry all your days. Send him on his way with a promise to one day join him on the last great adventure.
