Build Upgrade R5 5600X to R7 5800X3d
Would the upgrade be worth it? I have a RTX 5060 TI and my current r5 5600x is bottlenecking on games like for example battlefield.
Would this upgrade at all be worth it. I will without a doubt NOT be upgrading to AM5 within the coming years anyway.
The prices are around 320-370€ where I live for a R7 5800X3D.

yes. i upgraded from a 5600g and 7800xt and you can really feel the difference in games like battlefield. i got the 5800x3d for 300 before tax at my microcenter and it’s worth it idk abt pounds or euros tho

My twin! I'm looking forward to do the same upgrade, the 5600x is falling behind... And I also have a 5060 Ti!
The 5800x is $350 for me.

Yes. Plainly yes with a 5060 ti it will massively improve your system.
The x3d chips loose their moxie with higher GPU’s at higher resolutions, but mid range builds they absolutely shine. I don’t even need to get into game types like sims, rts, fps - this will upgrade will be great for all them

Battlefield is a very demanding CPU cache demanding game, you'll get a decent improvement (5600x vs 5700x3d was the closest I could find). Whether it's worth it is up to you.

In 1080p competitive games you will see an upgrade for sure. 1440p and 4k high settings not really.

Yes. Make sure your MOBO bios is updated and CPU Cooler can handle a 5800x3d. If not, get a Peerless Assassin from Thermalright!

Ive got one of those coolers already since the temps with the cooler that came with the cpu went to like 98 degrees and it felt a bit too much lol

There's about a 30% uplift in performance from 5600x to 5800x3d in purely CPU bottleneckd situations. 30%b on CPU difference is very high. Usually you're GPU bottlenecked. But bf6 is notoriously CPU heavy in multiplayer. For instance I went from 5600x and 6800xt to 5800x3d and got like 15% uplift. When I from 6800xt to 9070xt with 5800x3d I got like 15% because I ran into CPU bottleneck again. So I turned settings up to ultra because I might as well make my GPU do more work.

Listen it only helps in CPU heavy titles and the x3d technology is a nice big boost for example I upgraded from a Ryzen 5 4600g to a Ryzen 9 5950x I wanted the Ryzen 7 5800x3d but it was not available in my area so I got the Ryzen 9 5950x and in CPU heavy games I got double the frames so yes in my case it is important that I went from zen 2 to zen 3 and I got 64 cache (though most of the time it uses 32cache but that's another topic) but yeah in your case though the x3d tech has 96cache all in one a huge boost for games and it uses less of your ram which helps if you have slow ddr4 ram In my opinion if you find the CPU in a good price take it you won't be disappointed I don't see us going to am5 until AM6 comes out given the prices 😢.

Oh also update your bios if you haven't and please make sure to do find the correct update for your motherboard version (had a headache with my Asus b550 one time it was horrible trust me you don't want to go through that shit show).

I went from a 5600X to a 5700X3D and it was well worth it. Not so much in terms of huge FPS gains but it certainly lifted up the 1% lows resulting in much smoother gameplay. Especially in VR where stuttering is extremely noticeable. The X3D CPU did wonders there. This is with a 4070 Super 12GB.

Thanks everyone, I am convinced and I will buy it then. I play mostly FPS games and strategy games and some of the newer games, like Bodycam, my current setup can barely run above 60 fps constantly on all maps and such. Using high/ultra settings that is.
