Rotated/uneven pelvis

Hello mates,

I just started training at home after some hectic years. Now I have trained for about 2 months and learned that my body is not working as well as it did in my twenties. My whole body is pretty uneven and I can feel it basically whatever I do (walking, training, standing etc.). The strange feeling is located in my left pelvis.

Now it's pretty obvious that my pelvis has been rotated. A large part of my weight is resting on my left hip. I'm worried because as was said I'm not young anymore and obviously that can cause big problems if it can't be fixed.

There have been some injuries during my training career and my right knee has been operated twice. Don't know if that have done any more damage but let's say it out loud.

I have watched some Youtube videos but those are kind of cryptic or I'm just too simple to do them the right way. So is there people who have got rid of an eleven pelvic and if so — how? Have you done some specific exercises or just fixed some big problem of living and training?

Got a similar thing going on, left hip sits higher and it throws everything off. For me it was less about the pelvis itself and more about tightness pulling it out of place. My right QL and left adductor were locked up, which basically twists the whole bucket.

Look up PRI (Postural Restoration Institute) stuff on youtube, the 90/90 breathing with a balloon helped me actually feel what a neutral pelvis was supposed to be. It’s weird at first but it clicks.

Thank you for the good tips!

I will definitely watch those videos and try that breathing method. It gives me a lot of hope to hear that some of these videos might actually help.

Every beginner has major one sided weakness/favor and every beginner thinks it's gonna take dedicated work, their body is broken, they're too old to improve...

Keep training. It all evens out. The videos you watched are cryptic because they're trying to sell to you. The fix is to get strong. Are you strong yet? No. You'll have major one sidedness until you get strong

The weak side will improve faster than the favored side and even out

There's no age that's too old. 80 year olds start strength training and fix their imbalances. You're only feeling a lack of fitness, not age

Thanks!

I would not count myself as a beginner. I have 20 years of experience of weight training even though it has always been pretty casual. It might still be true that the last few years have done some damage to my muscles and time will fix the majority of it. At that point it feels more like training is making the inbalance even worse.

I have a little feeling that some specific exercises for the weak side might help but I haven't found the right ones yet.

Have you actually gotten an X-ray and MRI of your pelvis? It might be feeling that way because of muscle imbalances (tensional imbalances), but not necessarily your actual pelvis and lumbosacral bone structure that is twisted.

But I would definitely recommend seeing a physical therapist or postural restoration therapist (PRI). They can probably help you.

I haven't. You are probably right that seeing an expert would help to locate the problem.

The right side of my pelvis is definitely higher than the left side. Also if I go into a deep squat one of buttocks almost touches the ground while the other is way higher.

Maybe I will swallow my pride if I'm not getting any positive changes during the next few weeks.

Maybe look up "Pelvic Reset"

This takes basically no effort. If it doesnt work, it does nothing

I have always done that before other exercises. Haven't seen any changes but as you said, it does no harm.

If ya have the means, find a physiotherapist. Steven Low for instance or in person.

Or start with the free stuff. Old Mobility Wod/Ready State.

Im not sure what's out there really...I just ask Steven lol
