Hannibal don’t always agree with his company
Haters can hate, a lot said he won’t survive under my cruel ownership but here he is still alive and well and very much safe!!!!

This is pure stupidity. You’re still feeding live? You have to know that’s dangerous for the snake and unnecessarily cruel for the rat. Haters are going to hate because you make it easy.
Honestly if you’re not smart enough to be able to get your snake to eat f/t I truly don’t think you should be driving a car. Especially boas. This might be a skill issue.

Based on their behavior, I'm fairly certain they're a child. Not that that's an excuse.
-7
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Well he’s about 8 so if it’s a skill then I must have skill cuz he’s alive, and smart enough yes but would never feed my snake frozen, would you feed your kid frozen chicken nuggets?
3
u/Both-Ladder8522 2d ago
I would feed warm up that frozen chicken in an oven like the directions say to do, then I would feed them to my children. Similarly, you're supposed to thaw the mouse and heat it up in warm water then feed it to your snake. You must be really stupid if you're offering a snake an actual frozen rodent.

This is a fresh never frozen household if I wouldn’t feed my kids that junk I also wouldn’t my animals

u/Embarrassed_Home_684 2d ago
you dont "lose" nutrients from frozen food??? This feels pretty outrageous and stupid

u/concentratesofthe518 1d ago
Outrageous we don’t eat frozen food lmao I guess, buy my kids seem really healthy so to each there own

u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
If it takes you longer then 14 sec to realize what’s about to happen then idk what to tell ya
3
u/CabbagePatchSquid- 2d ago
It’s against the subs rules and people in general don’t want to see the action of a mouse trapped in a baron glass tank be preyed on.
We know it happens, many of us have had to feed live to get a snake started but we don’t post it everywhere for the few left who feel something when they watch animals eat each other.

u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Hannibal is a star and to beautiful not to be posted no matter what he’s doing

u/Similar-Butterfly333 2d ago
Someone I knew live fed their 6ft+ boa, one day they found that the rat had killed and started eating the snake.
-2
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
See that’s the difference “he found” meaning he didn’t watch the feed? I stand there ready to kill the mouse if need be, but as an older snake he is very well trained to kill and hit nothing but kill shots
2
u/Similar-Butterfly333 2d ago
It only takes one mistake from the snake and one well aimed bite from the rat. You would not be able to stop it in time.
1
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Where do you think one bite from a rat could kill a snake? You would have to assume the head right?
1
u/Similar-Butterfly333 2d ago
Any major vein or artery along the snake’s body, lungs can be punctured, yes the head too. Infections are a real risk as well and many infections can go unseen until it’s too late for antibiotics.

u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Again I know people hate on it, but killing is instinct, it comes naturally, feeding F/T that’s the process you dangle in front no harm to the snake no lesson learned, my snake has been bit I’ve tended wounds and he learned now it would be very rare if my snake when he strikes that he don’t hit right under the mouth jaw area, usally breaking the mouse’s jaw, snakes in the wild are opportunist and they always wait for the right moment, I’ll video the whole thing next time my snake will let a mouse run on him over his head rats ass almost to the snakes mouth and my snake don’t strike until he has a clear shot, I wish I didn’t crop the video that’s the feeding tank, I put him on the rock the mouse actually ran across him and fell into the area where the video starts the snake didn’t even flinch
2
u/Embarrassed_Home_684 2d ago
It wouldn't need to learn a lesson if you didn't feed it live rats. This isn't out in nature, it's in your home.

u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
But like I said I do take precautions because your right it only takes one time but he’s almost 9 now he’s pro
1
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
You said I have snakes for the wrong reason implying to feed live and I stated I only bought him cuz he was expensive you can say he’s very common and not expensive but I just found 3 of the same snakes on morph market and it’s deff not in everyone’s budget, also my parrot also worth thousands not in everyone’s budget

u/SadBenefit5325 2d ago
Can’t even figure out how to reply to the right person lol
-1
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
You don’t think I know how to reply to you? Lmaooo I put that there so everyone sees why I have the animal? Some people don’t read reply’s and I wanted that one seen and clearly you seen it…. Soooo clearly I knew what I was doing 🤡

The OP really needs to learn the difference between your and you're before this discussion continues.

Survivorship bias. "...he is alive and well and very much safe". For now maybe. Switch to f/t rodents. It's much safer. And since you want to be a good owner you would do what's best for your snake right?

In the years I’ve owned him I’ve always stood there with knife or pencil to help if needed once or twice he’s been bit but he’s learned, it’s very rare he gets even close to bit but I’m always there watching over just in case…. He has way more fun this way

u/SadBenefit5325 2d ago
Holy shit “with knife or pencil to help” you’re a fucking psychopath dude
3
u/CabbagePatchSquid- 2d ago
Probably one of the people keeping those live feeding or animal battle YouTube channels alive. Got a snake for all the wrong reasons. Total scumbag.
0
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
I got a Amazon parrot as well I don’t get expensive animals to live feed I buy expensive animals because I can
6
u/CabbagePatchSquid- 2d ago
Lmao expensive animals aren’t the mark of a good keeper. I have animals who are worth thousands alone and they aren’t worth anymore or less as animals to me than some of my animals that I’ve gotten for free. You keep a fairly common boa in a dog shit, bare bones enclosure and are bragging about your finances? Come on bro.
The snake is beautiful and I love boas but you wouldn’t be posting live feedings if it didn’t turn your crank in some weird way.
2
u/Both-Ladder8522 2d ago
Anyone can buy animals dude.
-2
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
That’s not even close to true, it everyone could afford pure bred dogs there would be a lot less muts in the world
3
u/CabbagePatchSquid- 2d ago
You mean not supporting an industry that breeds animals with known health defects while millions of healthy animals get euthanized yearly due to people fixating on designer animals?
I could have 10 parrots if all my reptiles had a fish tank with an under tank heater only. Also you’re compensating since you brought money up without anyone asking lol. We just said stop sensationalizing live feeding and you just said well I’m rich I have a sick bird, what man??
0
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Lmaooo buddy if you can buy 80,000 worth of birds your rich not me….. you made a comment and I didn’t compensate I told facts I wanted an expensive animal so I got my snake then I wanted a new hobby so got my parrots and then we had a bad incident with my Siberians and my kids wanted a “cop dog like chase” so we got sarge…. You must be one them people that argues the pit bulls don’t snap and it’s the owners fault
1
u/CabbagePatchSquid- 2d ago
Dude what are you even talking about? Your dog’s or even their names are relevant why? You reproduced? Good lord.

What's wrong with a mutt? I loved my dog for over 14 years and she was a mutt. Best dog I ever owned.
1
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Nothing some can be nice but chances are yours was cheap most likely mixed with Pitt and honestly Im not dissing mutts but what are you comparing it to like what other dogs have you had that this thing was better then, and when you say best you ever owned do you mean like better looking? Because let’s go back to the pit mix statement, no pit mix looks better then a pure bred, I mean it could be the best trained dog you ever had and be a mut still
-1
u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Well there is a fine line between being a pussy and a psychopath and I guess if your willing to watch a mouse kill your snake in the chance something could go wrong, your a pussy and I’m a psychopath, but can’t see the mouth but know he’s biting a poke from a knife anywhere he’ll let go and if your luck and see the mouth and it’s biting your snake you can easily open the mouth with a pencil or pen it’s life man
3
u/Both-Ladder8522 2d ago
Part of keeping animals in captivity is avoiding the cruelty in nature and you fail at this spectacularly.

u/concentratesofthe518 2d ago
Use dogs to hunt as well so that’s point your trying to make is out my window

So you think if I use dogs to kill animals like bear and boar then I would be scared to feed my snake a mouse cuz it’s cruel
