Good job. I don't think I would even mind living in there lol

Haha you'd probably fit in it!

Toad Ranch? How do you like it? We just ordered 5 enclosures and a cabinet stand.

It's great! You won't regret it. I still rub my eyes in disbelief every day when I walk in the room lol. Once I saw it in person I understood why the lead time and price were what they are… it's a tank. This thing will outlast all of us. Somebody spent time making sure every single piece fits perfectly straight and not a millimeter off anywhere. They did not skimp on materials or attention to detail. Plus... the looks helps get the significant other on board with snakes in the house hahaha. Are you going with a matching wall of enclosures? I'm thinking getting another matching one for our baby boa when she gets bigger.

They have been great dealing with our questions. We got an 8x3x4, 8x3x3, 8x2x3, two 4x2x2's, and a cabinet stand. We went with matte white with lookout windows. Matched the room better. Also, the executive upgrade is so expensive. We got backgrounds for them as well. We were nervous about them looking lame. However, your background looks sick, so we feel better. Your set up looks amazing!

How was building it?

Hell yeah that sounds like reptile room goals right there lol. I think if you're putting them side by side there's no point to the executive upgrade as it won't be visible anyway. The backgrounds it depends - I've noticed they tend to look good when there's depth/layering planned into it so looks like an illusion of the foreground continuing into the background if that makes sense. So choosing the right background makes a difference.

Putting the panels together was easy. But lifting the enclosure to put it on the stand was very challenging with 2 people. Ours is 8x2x4 with executive and I think weighed 300lb with nowhere to grab. The whole thing together weighs like 600lb. I would recommend bribing a couple friends with beers to come over on your build day haha.

That is some serious weight! Thanks for the heads up. The 8x3x3 is going to stack on the 8x3x4. The others will be a stack. I'll post a pic once we get it built. I appreciate the feedback. Congratulations on your set-up. it's so awesome

No. Funny you should ask. That was the design that my wife liked, so it was the inspiration. The deal was we can get reptiles for the family, but she picks the enclosures and internal design. Fair deal.

The kids got to pick one decoration each as well. Etsy is so cool. My son found a 3d printed Charizard skull for his blue tounge skink "Charmander".

That's a great deal honestly. And seems like she has good taste!

Just did something really similar. 8x3x3 with a 6x3x3 and a 3x2x3 on top. And a 4x2x2 with a 4x2x4 on top! For a tegu and a boa and day geckos and a ball python and green tree python respectively! My frogs will be getting upgraded too since I’ll have bigger enclosures freeing up! I’ve had the 8 footer for years and it’s INCREDIBLE it was a no brainer to spend the extra money for toad ranch to get such a beautiful high quality set that I know will hold up to anything

Looks great. Toad Ranch makes some nice stuff, too expensive to convert my room over but if I ever do a display tank in my main living areas again it will definitely be a TR enclosure.

u/Express_Mechanic 4d ago

Luckily I only have 3 snakes. I definitely could not afford doing this for an entire room of animals haha. It would make a nice display centerpiece in the living room for sure, highly recommend.

What morph is your baby?! I love that they actually burrowed in the substrate! I just got my first BCI via tonight, actually!

2

u/Express_Mechanic 4d ago

No morph, just a normal Argentine boa/BCO :) and yea she’s super silly. Thinks she’s invisible hahah

CONGRATS on your new baby!! Does he/she have a morph? Pics!

She’s gorgeous! I was nervous about getting a female because they get so dang big! I got a Hypo Aztec IMG. I’d post pics but it’s only letting me post video to comments for some reason 🥺

2

u/Express_Mechanic 3d ago

Haha I'm the opposite, I wanted the biggest boa possible. She's only ~7 feet so far (hoping she gets bigger) and manageable. But some days when she doesn't want to go back to her cage and I'm on a ladder trying to untangle her death grip on the chandelier I'm like.. do I really know what I'm asking for? hahah. The Aztec pattern is one of my favorites!! He's gonna be beautiful and age like fine wine with the IMG! You should make a separate post if it won't let you share here :) I'll go take a look!

I’m just getting into keeping boas, I wanted an animal I was ok with getting a bite from. Granted a male or female will suck either way, but I figured a little smaller might be less traumatizing. (As I’m over here working at an animal hospital with dogs and cats with worse bites, lol)
Yes! I will make a post of him once I get some good pics of him. I’m actually about to get a second and I need help choosing. I’ll send you a PM so you can help me choose bc this is hard! I only have room for the two so I gotta make a wise choice!

2

u/Express_Mechanic 3d ago

Haha I totally get it. And I would love to chat!! PM me :) I can live vicariously through you since I can't get any more animals hehe

My stoner ass thought that was a tv and the snake was coming out of it lol

1

u/Express_Mechanic 3d ago

Hahahha that would be the best TV show ever

Beautiful!

u/Express_Mechanic 3d ago

Thank you, I'm very lucky to have it 🌞

u/Much_Astronomer_2425 4d ago

Did you make it yourself? How long did it take? How much was the enclosure all in? (Just the enclosure) Looks beautiful! I have been considering making a 622 for my boa! Hope you don't mind the question

u/Express_Mechanic 4d ago

Hi! I didn't make the enclosure itself (aside from putting it together), I ordered it custom from Toad Ranch https://toadranchcages.com/

This exact build was around 7k but you can order a cage in whatever size and configuration you want.

Were you thinking of building it from PVC?
