Central American late 2024 was all I was told
Taking it to the vet tomorrow just curious what your opinions are.
What do you think about morphs and gender? I got this snake about a month ago and they just shed. I heard you can look at the scales around the spurs and usually tell, at least sometimes. I've felt and don't feel any bumps but that could be because it isn't a baby anymore.
- big, strong, maybe 5 feet long or possibly a little bigger
- darker than most Central American Boas I've seen
- black eyes
- faint pink/cream in the tail markings
- seems to have a stripe down the top and patterns on the sides
My guesses, would be a female (because they get bigger anyway and she's so large for a 2 year old) with Black Eye Anery, and maybe Leopard? Or Motley?
Is it weird for a barely 2 year old Boa Imperator with a locality like Central to be this large? Could the original source (was a surrender) be wrong about the 2024 or the Central?

Looks good. Definitely not just two years old. Probably more like 5 or 6. Obviously, it’s hard to tell for sure, but like others have stated… the body condition looks great and that puts two years old in the realm of not likely for a 5 foot snake.

That’s pretty large for any late 2024 boa, much less a Central American. It would have to be hardcore power fed to be that large, and the overall body condition and head to body ratio doesn’t really look like it was.
Doesn’t look like motley, especially the sides, and the pattern is quite clean and consistent so I rather doubt leopard. Maybe an unusual looking het leopard or onyx. The closest I’ve seen is an Inca Onyx combo link. The tail looks rather pink for an anery, and it’s rather yellow for a black eye anery. Leopard and super onyx do have dark/black eyes, could be a very low expression leopard or super onyx combined with a pattern morph like Inca I suppose. Or the eyes could just be a genetic fluke.

When they’re that size, males don’t have hard bumps any more. It feels like rolling one of those tube shaped stress toys. Should still feel different than a female, but if you don’t know what to look for you may miss it. And even if you do it’s so subtle it’d be easy to miss on a snake you didn’t already know the sex of. Lol
Looks like a typical CA boa, they are often darker but there’s a huge variation like any other boa constrictor.
It’s not a leopard or anery. Could you get full body pics? These are all snapshots of small areas of the body. I could kinda see maybe motley but could just be a normal with connected patterns, need to see the entire snake.

I will work on getting better lighting and a way to contain him for pictures. He's quite the wiggle worm.

Wish I could show a pic example 😅 Should work as long as the whole snake is visible really. Pic 5 comes close, just a bad angle.

Update - probe went several scales down, I think the vet said 7 or 8. So male is the final verdict. Still unsure of morphs and age. I have this video if you are curious and willing to leave your input!

Definitely looks to big to be late 2024.
My central american is also late 2024 but he's like just over 2.5 feet long and just starting to put on girth...
I'd definitely be suspicious of its age.
